Name: Lizzy Janssen Location: Fishtown — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Size: One Bedroom, One Bathroom Years lived in: 2.5 years, rent When visiting Lizzy's neighborhood you never know what type of house you're going to end up in. Fishtown is eclectic and certainly stylish and the homes range from industrial lofts in old factories to untouched rowhomes and occasionally you'll find a complete and utter surprise like the one I was presented with when Lizzy opened the door.
This house screams "COOL""! Vintage finds assembled with a discerning eye and a touch of humor and a dose of childhood wonder. Well done Lizzy.....
A WEAPONS FACTORY IN BUDAPEST BECOMES A HOME Posted by Caroline Williamson on 07.25.16 in Architecture, Interior Design, Main
A Weapons Factory in Budapest Becomes a Home FORWARDVIEW THE PHOTO GALLERY A+Z Design Studio, run by architect and production designer Attila F. Kovács and his art director and stylist wife, Zsuzsa Megyesi, became their own clients when they converted a four-story building that was once a weapons factory, into their home. Located in the southern part of Budapest, Hungary, Loft 19, their tower-like home, and the large factory complex date back to around 1913-1915 and have become protected industrial buildings. The space is quite unusual but they’ve made it all their own creating the perfect blend of design from Kovács’ childhood years (1950s-60s) with a contemporary spin.
A cool, low key, not over the top environment. Beautiful furniture choices, muted, easy color palette, hip accessories all combine to create a very welcoming home. I particularly love the windows and polished concrete floors

I like this loft with it's generous sampling of mid century modern classics, this beautiful vintage chandelier, and a bright and light personality. The kitchen is fairly perfect and charming! Bravo!

Welcome to this warm and inviting space in Brooklyn. Decorated with bits and pieces of antiques, modern, vintage and garden furniture, an eclectic combination that works. My sweet spot here is the clean geometric lines/angles of the stairway and the awesome brickwork. Coming in next, of course I always appreciate a special bathroom and this one has very cool textures, high ceiling, and design elements, and the tub!!!! The bedroom also calls to me, I am kind of tired right now, besides that I think the bed looks so comfortable and I always appreciate restraint in a sleeping space.

Enjoy your visit to this spectacular renovated Flour Mill. "A project between architectural firm Robb Studio and Chicago-based interior design team Studio Gild." randysloan.com - I particularly like the unique dining light fixture and the entry hall sculptural lighting. I have great appreciation for the minimal approach in accessorizing and the chosen opportunities to use color. This is a home with subtle sophistication and quality finishes in the kitchen and bathroom as well as some really fine leather occasional chairs sprinkled throughout....

This beautiful house is located in the lovely French village of Lalanne-Arque, which is situated within Midi-Pyrénées region in the South of France.
There is something so soothing about the simple palette of this vacation rental. Perhaps the dwelling holds the happy spirits of the horses that were stabled here in this breathtakingly beautiful part of France. I could go on forever about the beauty of the walls, but as you will see, all the raw and retained original features are special. The choice to use vintage, mid century and modern elements completes this awesome space.

This charming home blends texture rich, rustic brick and stone walls, with modern spectacular lighting, and quirky functional art. The color palette is easy and light, except for the beautiful clean, lean, modern look of the black kitchen.

We are bringing to you a charming home full of the personalities of this active, young family. We really enjoy the quirky touches, quality appliances, concrete, wood, essentially the coming together of old and new with a very family friendly vibe.
Let me take you to New York, to Franklin Street in the Tribeca neighborhood. Among the lofts you can find here, here's a shabby chic, rustic and bohemian.
This Tribecca home was built in 1882. It is gifted with charm, abundant light, "joie de vivre", and comfort. How I would love to hang out and listen to music in this wonderful, airy space, or have a meal at the dining table and read the ever changing conversation on the chalk board.
There are some extraordinary columns, beams and pipes that the sparse decor allows to shine.
Creative studio designed by Manolo Yllera, situated in Spain.
designed by Manolo Yllera, in Spain and totally RAD! Full of art, photography and many wonderful pieces. Interestingly, although I lean towards minimalism personally, I really am drawn in here and find it light and fanciful with a good touch of humor!
Eclectic loft apartment designed by Lev Lugovskoy, situated in Russia.
Raw elements abound in this quirky architect's loft in Russia. I suspect most of the obviously old wood beams, brick walls, and fab floors are original to the space, however I did not find any history of the building. You can spend a lot of time taking in all the details in this very masculine and thoughtfully designed and decorated space. Filled with a beautiful vintage leather sofa and a predominance of brown and muted furniture, the art, rugs and throw pillows add small pops of color. Take notice of the unique lighting and the bathroom/tub.

Quirky and fun..... "Swedish born, interior stylist Marie Olsson Nylander has very good taste, as you can see from her own house. With a bohemian de luxe style, an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary, her home converges many different styles in a style that she owns." Trendland.com
Un loft à Milan. Le loft de l'architecte Marco Vido est à la fois son espace de travail et son lieu de vie. D'aspect minimal, il a conservé la plupart
A true study in contrasts..... This wonderful find in Milan is Architect Marco Vido’s workspace and living space. It is a space that proudly reflects it's industrial, raw, concrete walls, glazed windows, and original ceilings. Their are countless creative touches with large art and well chosen unique lighting. Many rooms assert a minimal decor aesthetic.Yes I do adore the bedroom space and what a beautiful photo!
The extreme modernism of the bathroom and the beauty and high functionality of the kitchen indicate their is no compromise in lifestyle to live in this interesting and visually pleasing space.

We know you will enjoy this light infused, concrete driven New York loft. This architect designed space has exceptionally cool stairs and a very interesting skylight. The bathroom and large dining room are our favorite rooms. What do you like?
“Time makes us grow and mature, but we have to always keep our souls playful, no matter how old we are” claim the talents behind tAMINN Design studio. Proving their point, in July 2015, they completed “Maturity Fun”, a redesign of a 165-square-metre apartment in a brand new residential building, in Zhubei, Taiwan. The interior designers carefully abided by the client’s request that the final result hint at industrial style, albeit infused with colour.
Mike and Isa's home is loaded with charm, and there is an inviting vibe that draws you in. Granted it is not particularly bright, but the images detail the different rooms well. I like the punches of color and the play between old and new, vintage and modern. My favorite spot in this home is the dining area with the fabulous wood table and the mix of chairs.....what about you, talk to me!
oh & of course I xo the generous & varied applications #concrete
Large warehouse style lofts can feel overwhelming due to their large size and overly high ceilings but by using innovative design details, MARTINarchitects was able
is this perfection or what...great image!!!
The dining area has it all, a simply beautiful brick wall with fabulous art and a garden wall....yes, true...then there is the furniture and lighting to round it out to fabulous.
"The sitting area in the window features the Cageling Chair suspended from the ceiling so that you can feel like a bird perched up high, swinging comfortably as you enjoy the view."
Check out the bathroom, a very unconventional "trip" and I love the lighting over the tub! The room with the Classic Egg Chair is minimal and quite appealing to my affinity towards "less is more" and not a bore because of the opportunity to feature a chair, wall ....etc.
Take a peek into design collector and dealer Bea Mombaers' charming little bed and breakfast in Knokke, where every piece of furniture and decoration is for sale!
"Owner, design collector and dealer Bea Mombaers, the woman behind Items, an eclectic design store in Knokke, has filled her small and charming hotel with all the furniture she loves and has decorated it according to her own impeccable taste. Whilst concrete floors and grey walls contrast with the rustic exterior of the building, they also serve as the perfect backdrop for the ever-changing collection of objects and artworks inside. We bring to you a quirky, cool house. It's location in South Africa is perfection, with it's rural vibe. It is referred to as a farmhouse, but looks like International, MCM architecture from the exterior. The wonderful raw elements we all love are numerous and the decor is easy, semi shabby, vintage. My favorite rooms are the kitchen, the bath, and most of all the office.
If I could offer constructive criticism, I would appreciate more of a mix of furniture with a few key pieces of modern or MCM furniture to change the predominant antique look. (probably explains why my favorite room is the office because of the interesting chairs)
Name: Justin Bauer Location: Boyle Heights; Los Angeles, California Size: 3,500 square feet Years lived in: 2 years; Rented Artist and Creative Director Justin Bauer's industrial live/work space is located on the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles and is an open-concept lover's dream. While most would be overwhelmed outfitting an interior as large as Justin's self proclaimed "Warehouse Acropolis," artistic sensibilities and an adventurous spirit make it a blank canvas with endless possibilities for creative exploration.
Justin Bauer's space is colorful and as the article says, "ruggedly whimsical..... Imagine a capsized ship, bathed in dreamy natural light and filled with remnants of intergalactic travel and sophisticated social salons of decades past."
