Previous Parts-Pointing The Spotlight On LinkIt ONEGetting Started with LinkItOneGetting Familiar with Arduino IDE: LinkItOneThe programs we write for LinkIt One are called sketches. Inside the sketch we have a minimum of the following two methods:setup()loop()The setup method will run once at the beginning that helps to initialize our variable and sensors. The loop method will be called repeatedly. We can have many methods other than these two.

Long Range Ultrasonic Distance Sensor

Long Range Ultrasonic Distance Sensor | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
This Instructable demonstrates a method of increasing the measuring range of the popular HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor. The enhancement in range is based on reducing the 'field of view' (FOV) of the basic sensor by using it as a feed element for a parabolic dish.No changes have been made in the electronics of the basic HC-SR04 sensor. However, a blanking circuit has been added externally so as to ignore the first reflection/distance from the feed element to the parabolic dish. The HC-SR04 is connected to an Arduino uno which displays the measured distance on a standard PC1602 16X2 LCD display. The distance is also sent on the serial link through the USB connector. For outdoor experiments the system was powered through the USB connector using mobile power bank.A maximum distance of 9.24 meters was achieved in the experimentation I wish to acknowledge useful inputs from Emil's Project Blog where he has provided an ...

How to Build a Shield for the Linkit One

How to Build a Shield for the Linkit One | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Hello world! Pure carbon here with another Instructable. Today I will show you how to build a custom shield for the Linkit One Board. Before we get into that however I must tell you why I went on this endeavor in the first place. I only own one shield for Arduino and it requires more then two PWM pins which is unfortunately all the Linkit One has, so I decided to build a custom shield for this board. The shield that I made is extremely simple because it only has two buttons and an LCD screen. The purpose of this Instructable is to teach you how to build a shield for either the Linkit One or the Arduino, so lets get started. Thank you for all your support, and tips to help me improve my Instructables. Without you guys I wouldn't be doing this right now, you can expect many ...

How to make proper rainbow and random colors with the RGB color model

How to make proper rainbow and random colors with the RGB color model | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
It would seem that such simple things as a rainbow effect or smoothly changing random colors on an RGB LED are pretty trivial. However, time and again I come upon projects using strange approaches to this matter. The most common strangeness is the use of the HSV color model for RGB LED programming. Really, people! An RGB LED consists of three LEDs: red, green and blue. What’s better suited to control such a thing than the red, green and blue color model? Why complicate matters by additional algorithms converting data from a very different set of rules to the native one? Still, HSV persists; it’s even present in an excellent ShiftPWM library...In any case, one of the readers asked for a code in my previous instructable dealing with RGB LED strips connection to an Arduino, and I promised an article. Here it goes, hopefully it’s not too late for some ...

LPG detector with LinkIt One

LPG detector with LinkIt One | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
The new IoT board LinkIt ONE co-designed by Mediatek and Seed Studios is an open source, high performance board for prototyping Wearables and IoT devices. It is a small board based on SoC that comes with onboard Wi-Fi, GSM and GPRS that makes it a powerful board for connected devices. The pin layout of the board is exactly similar to Arduino, making the development easy with many Arduino compatible shields and sensors. It comes at an affordable price of $ 59, you can get it from here.Let us create a Gas Leakage detection system with LinkIt One and MQ5 Sensor. This system will help you to upgrade your safety standards and prevent accidents by detecting any gas leakage in your home.
