Arduino SOS Beacon: 4 Steps (with Pictures)

Arduino SOS Beacon: 4 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Morse code is an archaic method of transmitting information as a series of beeps or lights or varying periods of time. Yet, the morse code for help, known as SOS has stood the test of time. Even to date, it is the international symbol for requesting help. This distress signal actually carries little meaning, S and O are simply the two easiest to signal character as determined by morse code. Consequently, it was used as a way to signal for help, and still remains recognized as a visual distress beacon. This project shows how to use an Arduino and LED to flash an SOS beacon. It is an alternative and frankly, a less boring example of the 'blink a light' tutorial for the Arduino Uno.

ESP8266-To-LED Matrix (Look Ma No Arduino): 6 Steps (with Pictures)

ESP8266-To-LED Matrix (Look Ma No Arduino): 6 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
This project came about when I created this instructional: https://www.instructables.com/id/WIFI-Enabled-LED-...I received comments from people that it could be accomplished without the Arduino. I took that as a challenge. The purpose of this project is to program an ESP8266-12 to service up a web page with a form, then take the text loaded into the form and display it on a LED Matrix. The ESP8266-12 (NodeMCU) Connects to your Wifi (you supply SSID and password)Starts a web server on port 80Display IP Address on the LED Matrix until Text is entered.Remove URL tags from text enter on webpage and send to LED MatrixOn your home internet router you may forward port 80 on that IP to enable it on the internet.

How to Read Arduino Sensor Data on Android App Using Bluetooth: 9 Steps (with Pictures)

How to Read Arduino Sensor Data on Android App Using Bluetooth: 9 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
The concept of controlling or executing a task on Arduino with a mobile phone over Bluetooth has gained enormous popularity in the recent years. Makers and developers started to create custom applications for this purpose using easy to develop software such as MIT APP inventor. Most of these applications were utilized for sending one way information. This Instructable is aimed at demonstrating a simple method to read an Arduino's sensor data on an Android app based on the sensor selection made by a user (Hence, a two way communication). To consider an example, three distinct sensors are used in this project: Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) Potentiometer Infrared (IR) SensorCommunication between the mobile phone and the Arduino is supported by HC-05 Bluetooth module.
