Liquid nitrogen (finally) makes an Arduino project cool

Liquid nitrogen (finally) makes an Arduino project cool | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
At $1.5 a liter in Moscow, [Michail] couldn’t resist buying some liquid nitrogen for himself. He thought that because Arduinos were quite popular among geeks, he’d try to overclock one while bringing its temperature down to -196°C/-320°F.

The Ghostly Frame: 4 Steps (with Pictures)

The Ghostly Frame: 4 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Welcome guys! I am sure that you are reading this with a small plan in your mind to do a prank on somebody. Well that is perfectly all right because I also made it with the same intension (it is a long story). Now you must be asking what this project is all about (well of course it is to scare someone). I use Arduino in this project to light a photo of a ghost when somebody comes close to it. This is an easy project which is best for beginners who are new to the world of Arduino. Please change the photo of the ghost if you find it less scary (I used it to scare a ten year old). Now let us check the thing you will need.

How to Make a WiFi Controlled LightSaber (kid's Size): 9 Steps (with Pictures)

How to Make a WiFi Controlled LightSaber (kid's Size): 9 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
This lightsaber runs a simple web server, so you can connect to it over WiFi and control the color (e.g. from a phone, smart watch, tablet, etc.)How many colors? Too many to count. It serves up a javascript colorpicker, so you can tap whatever color you want on your phone screen. How does it look? Very, very bright. It has 144 LEDs in a half-meter blade. It's much brighter than any toy lightsaber I've found. It's much brighter than the adult-sized FX series lightsabers I've seen. Very smooth. You can only see the individual LED dots near the tip, where the tube tapers. I want to try a tube that doesn't taper, but haven't had time.I plan to upload follow-on projects (someday): I made it work with a Pebble smart watch. I've added the turn-on & turn-off "whoosh" sounds. This version has no sound, but the hilt has cutouts fo

Arthritis Assisting Mouse : 6 Steps (with Pictures)

Arthritis Assisting Mouse : 6 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
This project was one that was completed in May of 2017 in my school's research program. It uses motion capture of a hand (or an object) to move the mouse on a computer and even has the capabilities to click the mouse. Here is my abstract:For my research I am going to work on a touchpad mouse. I got inspiration from this idea when I walked into a store one time and I saw a laser keyboard. The concept was a tower that projects lasers in a keyboard pattern and can detect what you are typing. This was a very interesting concept to me and I wanted to expand upon it with a mouse. The goal here is not to save space, but instead to get farther in creating a bridge between humans and computers. I have done a lot of research with motion capture in arduino but nothing was reall

Diy Bench Power Supply(single Channel): 5 Steps (with Pictures)

Diy Bench Power Supply(single Channel): 5 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Every Engineer needs at least one bench power supply in his house.I agree one can get the power supply directly from the store, but they are costly and some are ugly in terms of design too.We all need to make sure that the power supply represent that person who is using it whether it is a student or an engineer or an hobbyist , this is my personal thought. Lets make the Power supply case Creative with the features that of high end bench power supply and modularise so that in future we can modify it. This power Supply is a single channel power supply.Specifications Input: 220-240V AC Output: 1.3v to 19.2v 3Amps with three leds to indicate constant current, full charge indicator, charging indicator .Two binding post and One usb connector as O/p/!\ The SMPS that i am using provides 24v /10 Amps but 10 Amps is lot more and i d

IoT Bakery Smart Bin : 7 Steps (with Pictures)

IoT Bakery Smart Bin : 7 Steps (with Pictures) | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
IntroductionUnsold bread in bakeries are dumped every day even though they are still edible. Our IoT Bakery Smart Bin gives the leftover bread a new life instead of going directly to the trash bin. Sensors are equipped in our smart bin to detect the condition of unsold bread and predict its expiry date using photoacoustic effect. Information of each batch of bread is sent to the cloud system which connects different bakeries to the neighborhood. We can therefore match the demand and supply of leftover bread in the community, relieve hunger and reduce the generation of food waste at the same time.DesignThe smart bin prototype consists of a wooden box (i.e. the smart bin) with 2 separate compartments (Plastic tray with transparent front window). In each compartment, there is a tray for keeping bread. Laser light (represent by LEDs) is sent to the bread and the emitted sound wave i
