Arduino in the classroom - a simple experiment in measuring and modeling water pollution

Arduino in the classroom - a simple experiment in measuring and modeling water pollution | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it

One thing I find exciting about the Arduino and other readily-available microcontrollers is the potential for use in the classroom. In this Instructable, I'll share a simple Arduino-based project that allows students (or anyone!) to study a toy-system that models the flow of pollution in a connected series of "lakes."

Thermometer that pushes Arduino to its limits

Thermometer that pushes Arduino to its limits | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it

Starting playing with Arduino seems simple enough. You can find all sorts of tutorials, instructables, wiring and code examples for pretty much every sensor, component, or module available. So far so good. But when the time comes for building a more complex device, the troubles start. The tutorials for adding multiple modules to Arduino and then working with them efficiently are very scarce.

Control a lamp with ESP8266 and a relay

Control a lamp with ESP8266 and a relay | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
My 6 year old son likes to sleep with the lights on. Eventhough I fitted his bed side lamp with a 4 Watt led bulb , I still thought I needed a way to control the lamp without getting up in the middle of the night and manually switching the lamp off. I like to tinker with electronics and I had some wemos D1 esp8266 compatible boards lying around, a relay switch (from a 37 sensor kit bought for my Arduino compatible board), and thought about using them to control the lamp wirelessly with the use of a web server. The build is straight forward, but fitting them in the project box, proved quite a task.

Arduino GSM LCD stacked

Arduino GSM LCD stacked | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
I have previously described how I built a simple SMS forwarder. I had a 16x2 LCD module for the Arduino so I thought it would be nice to stack that ontop of the GSM shield. This requires some soldering since 2 pins on my LCD shield interferes with the GSM shield.

QUATTRO - the Arduino Quadruped Robot

QUATTRO - the Arduino Quadruped Robot | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it

Hi guys! Here's a spider robot that we had made for the 2016 science fair which was held at our school. Well, you can't technically call it a "spider robot" as spiders have 8 legs, but we atleast tried to make it look like a spider (or maybe spider like) . Our robot has four legs, so the correct term would be a quadruped. Well guys say hello to "Quattro", a non lethal, arduino quadruped!
