Arduino for Beginners: API's and Checking Local Weather via WIFI

Arduino for Beginners: API's and Checking Local Weather via WIFI | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
In this video we will use an Arduino Yun (or leonardo with a wifi shield) to connect with the Yahoo Weather API and return the value of the local temperature (whatever location you want!) as an integer to be used in whatever project you can dream up. We will go through a service called Temboo that makes communicating with many API's very easy. You will need: - Arduino Yun or an Arduino Leonardo and a WIFI Shield (BOTH will be considered a "YUN" board in the Arduino IDE).- A USB cable. - A 9V Battery -and a 9V battery pack with barrel plug to power the Arduino Board and an on/off switch. Links to all parts can be found here: Parts and Code

555 Timer calculator for RaspberryPi, Arduino, or a Linux PC

555 Timer calculator for RaspberryPi, Arduino, or a Linux PC | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
This instructable is a calculator to determine the resistor and capacitor values to use in common 555 timer circuits. I have included versions for the RaspberryPi and the Arduino with simple circuits to blink two LEDs like the 555 would. The version for a Linux PC only shows the printed values. The Idea came from this comment in this instructable where I built a hardware emulator for a 555 using an Arduino. One thing occurred to me: What about a version, on the Arduino, where the component types and values are simply programmed in software, and thus don't have to exist as solid objects. You select the type of circuit, enter the values of the R + C components, and use either an external pin or software trigger as the source signal.Steps 1 and 2 are the program and circuit for the RaspberryPi, you will need: RaspberryPi - any model Breadboard Pushbutton ...

RASPBERRY PI nRF24L01+ Mini-Hat/Proto-Board

RASPBERRY PI nRF24L01+ Mini-Hat/Proto-Board | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
I wanted a custom board to add nRF24L01+ radios to my Raspberry Pi's. I wanted the solution to be reasonably elegant and fit into my Pi cases without removing the capability of adding a camera and other accessories. This basically fit the requirement of the HAT, although I did not want to stick too rigidly to the specification. So, after three prototypes, this is the custom PCB I came up with.
