Euronews Radio : « soyez à l’écoutedu monde »

 

Un mois à peine après son lancement, la radio numérique d’Euronews crée la surprise avec 300 000 auditeurs, tout en multipliantles partenariats partout dans le monde.

 

La programmation de la radio est particulièrement riche et se distingue par la présence de plages musicales originales entre les news. La radio propose des bulletins d’information toutes les 15 minutes en matinée entre 6h00 et 10h00 puis toutes les 30 minutes mais aussi des sujets économie, sport, culture, science et musique.


Les plages musicales diffusées toutes les heures ont été soigneusement sélectionnées pour offrir aux auditeurs une nouvelle expérience sur un média tel que la radio : s’informer sur le monde et apprécier une programmation originale !


Cross-média  encore, Certains titres diffusés actuellement sont notamment issus de la compilation Eurovibes by Euronews editée par Pschent

 

Euronews Radio, disponible dans les éditions anglaise, allemande, espagnole, française, italienne et russe, a été retenue pour le projet de RNT en France.

 

Euronews Radio a été conçue en collaboration avec Espace Group,société média qui se développe depuis plus de 30 ans dans la création et la production de radios. Espace Group a notamment développé en exclusivité pour Euronews un habillage sonore spécifique.

By now, you’ve probably heard the rumors that Apple is working on a Pandora-like internet radio service. Yesterday, Bloomberg added to the speculation, saying that a deal with record labels could be reached by mid-November.

But according to a follow-up report, that may not be the case. Apparently, some record executives haven’t been particularly impressed with the revenue sharing proposal. And they want Apple to sweeten the deal before they sign…

D'où le rapprochement avec une équipe à forte expertise digitale : Goom Radio. Nous souhaitons associer ces jeunes entrepreneurs à Virgin et, avec eux, inventer la radio de demain. Aujourd'hui, les contenus et les talents sont toujours essentiels, mais ils ne suffisent plus. CSA picks Onde Numerique for pay digital radio licence | Telecompaper

French audiovisual regulator CSA has chosen Onde Numerique over Media Mobile to operate a future pay digital radio service over the L band. The preparatory decision was taken at a plenary session on 23 October. After its digital pay radio service is operating, Onde Numerique will be permitted to deliver video and other data services under its licence. Reuters reports that Onde Numerique plans to offer subscribers 64 radio stations, including 50 exclusivce ones. Onde Numerique is in partnership with Lagardere subsidiary Metta to produce specific radio shows, but also with many FM stations including Europe 1, Oui FM and Radio Classique.

Un peu plus d'un an après avoir introduit la possibilité de découvrir et partager de la musique via sa timeline sur Facebook, en septembre 2011, l'entreprise annonce que 62,6 millions de chansons ont été jouées à 22 milliards de reprises.

En fournissant de nouveaux outils aux développeurs, Facebook a réussi à intégrer la musique, un des derniers éléments sociaux manquant à son site. Le milliard d'utilisateurs a plébiscité cette nouveauté, selon des chiffres publiés par la firme, le 6 novembre.

A new type of radio was unveiled at The Radio Festival by Radioplayer – a single radio unit which brings together all radio platforms.

The hybrid radio prototype has a single user interface and offers listeners the chance to browse radio stations regardless of the method of “transmission”.

Michael Hill, Managing Director of Radioplayer, demonstrated the ‘kitchen radio’ prototype in a debate about the convergence between broadcast radio and the internet.

Radioplayer is already talking to manufacturers about how to take the prototype to the next stage and hopes this will help act as a catalyst for debate and innovation across the radio industry.

Smartphones have changed nearly every aspect of our lives. They have become the personal assistant and digital companion that keeps us punctual, social, and sane. Still, these devices don’t quite shine until we push them — manually launching apps and inputting information. Pandora demands an artist, Urbanspoon requires a cuisine, and Maps wants a destination.

These minor, but collectively time-consuming requirements signal that our devices have yet to integrate our physical settings with our personal interests...

 

Our devices know us intimately — our habits, interests, connections, and desires. And Facebook’s Open Graph, Amazon’s storefront, and Google’s search know us, too. But until now they couldn’t translate their knowledge about us into value without our help.

Contextual apps like Saga, Friday, and Google Now have arrived, though, revealing a new age wherein our permission and input is merely an afterthought...

 

Gimbal, a new developer platform, recently enabled the creation of context-aware apps for Android phones and tablets. Its standout capabilities are geofencing, image recognition, and interest sensing. These features may soon be understood as the protons, electrons and neutrons of context-aware apps, and they’re just the beginning...

 

If integrated properly, context-aware platforms like Gimbal may bring the music industry its most revolutionary breakthrough since the Internet; a personal record store geek that confidently guides us through life with a unique and evolving soundtrack. This geek will compel us to discover new bands, attend more shows, buy more merch, and generally remember the magic of fandom that, for most of us, disappeared with the death of vinyl and the CD.

With the rise of context culture, our temporary musical tattoos may become more permanent and profitable. And developments in technology that once brought the music industry to it’s knees, could enliven and perhaps even empower it for years to come.

Podcasting advice from Wired.co.uk, the Economist, The Times and SoundCloud...

There are many different styles of podcast; Wired.co.uk and the Guardian offer a round-table discussion between journalists, the Economist produces word-for-word audio editions of the print and digital edition and BBC-style interviews between journalists and contributors, during the Olympics The Times offered a packaged podcast including interviews with correspondents, and other news outlets create round-up reads of news from that day or week, such as The Next Web's Daily Dose.

There are lots of innovative uses of audio by news outlets. For example, when covering the story of the Colorado shootings earlier this year, the Denver Post used SoundCloud to share audio, including police dispatch calls; France 24 cuts snippets of interviews and embeds them within some stories, and BBC World Have Your Say segments parts of the radio show into easily digestible sections.

This feature compiles a list of audio and podcasting tips from Nate Lanxon, editor of Wired.co.uk; Tom Standage, digital editor, the Economist; Chris Skinner, freelance podcast and radio producer who produced The Game podcast for The Times; and Ben Fawkes, audio content manager, SoundCloud.
