This article is from the business section of Billboard’s website. Billboard is a music magazine known for its articles about important developments in the music industry. The article states that artists should be able to access the information regarding who streams their music. Online streaming has become popular through sites such as Spotify and Pandora. However, many artists have expressed concern regarding compensation. Allowing this access would enable the artists to capitalize off of online streaming. They could learn what markets they have been appealing to, and attempt to reach out to those fans.
