Fitbit Surging 13% After Analyst Says It's In Shape And Ready To Sprint

Fitbit Surging 13% After Analyst Says It's In Shape And Ready To Sprint | UX-UI-Wearable-Tech for Enhanced Human | Scoop.it

Fitbit shares are spiking more than 13% after the dual publication of May sales results -- which showed Fitbit devices outsold Apple Watches -- and a bullish Wall Street note that said Fitbit sales are in shape and poised to take off.

Olivier Janin's insight:

Interesting figures :

  • Fitbit will ship 16 million devices this year
  • Fitbit sold over 10 million fitness trackers devices last year (from TechNewsToday.com)
  • RBC surveys of potential wearable-device buyers show that consumers are more included to purchase a fitness tracker than a smartwatch.
  • Fitbit sold 850,000 of its devices in May, beating the 777,000 AppleWatches sold during the same period.
  • Fitbit Inc. jumped more than 50% in its public trading debut earlier in the month and has gained another 18% since that day. But according to RBC Capital Markets, this growth is just the beginning.

Fitbit Partnership With HTC Gives It A Leg Up In The Fitness Tracking Space

Fitbit Partnership With HTC Gives It A Leg Up In The Fitness Tracking Space | UX-UI-Wearable-Tech for Enhanced Human | Scoop.it

Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly focusing on health and fitness as part of their platform offerings, but HTC didn't build its own homegrown health  tracking solution with the new HTC One (M8).

Instead, it partnered with category leader and successful startup Fitbit, the SF-based company that builds wearable trackers like the Fitbit Force and Flex, preloading their software on all new HTC One devices.

The pre-loading arrangement means that Fitbit will get first crack at a whole host of potential new users who receive their devices and take a gander at what they offer out of the box before heading to the Google Play Store. That’s a considerable achievement, and one that could help Fitbit become for fitness apps what Kleenex is for tissues, if it can formulate similar partnerships with other OEMS.

Nike+ Fuelband vs. FitBit Ultra vs. Striiv | UX-UI-Wearable-Tech for Enhanced Human | Scoop.it

Yesterday morning, I tooled up myself with 3 of my lovely desirable sensors.

In the afternoon, I was troubled as the 3 sensors displayed different measures for steps as for calories burned (delta is very high). Which sensor do you think we should believe the most ?

TY dbtmobile, I am to publish other tests results. I think that I shouldn't wear the sensors while I 'm sitting at my desk. My colleague made a test this morning btwn FitBit and Striiv and only while walking. Steps counts are very closed. But calories burned are still very different (1328 for Fitbit, 257 for Striiv!)
