The LG Smart Activity Tracker actually looks a lot like the Nike+ FuelBand, and has many of the same features. It has an accelerometer and altimeter to measure activity. It will know whether you’re walking, running, or sitting, and its data can synced to an app on Android smartphones. It will also work with LG Smart TVs to sync up with on-screen exercise programs. LG also plans on adding a heart-rate monitor, which would be a pretty cool addition. Also, it has a touchscreen.

At US$25 for the Sensor and the online Services (entertaining Progression, Rewards, Prizes), the product seems compelling to me. They try to get the community involvment to propose additional Activities (outdoor play, indoor play...).

No gameplay yet, but I am waiting for a complete demo.

I am sure I can make my kid eat its spinach with a dedicated game on screen. I must advice Jacques Lepine to buy Popeye license !

CES 2013 : Arianne Huffington leds 4 digital health leaders in conversation durinig the super session held in Las Vegas. It was a renewed occasion to listen to her and Dr Deepak Chopra about their common App "GPS for the Soul". I am currently using it (review to come). Another top guy on stage was Sonny Vu, Founder and CEO of Mistfit Wearables. The openned discussion underlined how the latest innovations which let us monitor everything from our stress levels to our genetic sequences have the potential to change lives. They explained their point of view about what the digital revolution means for the body, mind, and soul.

Unveiled at CES 2013.

Fitbit Flex sports a series of LED lights that indicate progress towards reaching a goal in 20 percent increments. The device also offers five different band colors so users have the option of switching the color of their device to accessorize.

 

As part of its Flex announcement, Fitbit noted that it has experienced “triple-digit growth” for the fifth year in a row now. The Flex is just the latest product launch from the company since last year’s CES.

 

The Flex, which is priced at $99.95 for preorders and begin shipping this spring, is the first wrist-worn device from the company.

 

Fitbit products are now sold in more than 10,000 US stores in addition to stores in countries like Canada, Spain, UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
