Hundreds of Apple Watch owners from across the country open up about the smartwatch
Olivier Janin's insight:

Ben Bajarin who authors The Daily Techpinion blog and worked with Wristly on the survey, said the study also revealed a “bias” against the watch from users who work in the tech industry. These were the strongest critics; some 45 percent of those polled work in the tech field.

The Apple Watch, in its current manifestation and because the concept is so new, (takes) time to truly understand its value,” Bajarin wrote on his blog Monday. “It certainly takes more than two weeks to realize how it fits into your life. But in the future, this will not be the case. This is simply due to the immaturity of the market and the product.”

The wearable revolution that wasn't

The wearable revolution that wasn't | UX-UI-Wearable-Tech for Enhanced Human | Scoop.it
Wearable devices were supposed to be the next big thing, but research from Gartner projects that growth will not be nearly as robust as the smartphone market.
Olivier Janin's insight:

Indeed, wearables can't suffer any comparison with the Smartphone market.

My 2 cents on this  :

  • consumers still need to understand how wearables can be usefull to them. They still don't understand how contextual information pushed at the right time could be a game changer in their digital lifes.
  • wearables technologies and services are about a more intimate barrier that Smartphone were. It is about health data.  And consumers are now educated on privacy and some dark perspective on the data usage.
