E-paper bracelets are fast on their way to becoming "the new black" in thefashion tech industry and the Bracelite is the bridge between smart jewelleryand smartwatches. The bangle style wristlet is now up on Kickstarter and the company behind it is seeking €80,000 to help mass produce it.

I like this approach of smart accessories linked to a Smartwatch ecosystem. I wonder how open Apple is to these types of additional systems to its Watch.


Pebble on its side has set up an entire ecosystem for the makers /  developers with SDK-API and a complete platform to allow them create additional value with innovative Smart-straps. 

Last Spring,  Pebble turns the tables in its latest venture: The company is pledging $1 million toward the development and commercialization of smart straps for its wearables.

Ben Bajarin who authors The Daily Techpinion blog and worked with Wristly on the survey, said the study also revealed a “bias” against the watch from users who work in the tech industry. These were the strongest critics; some 45 percent of those polled work in the tech field.


The Apple Watch, in its current manifestation and because the concept is so new, (takes) time to truly understand its value,” Bajarin wrote on his blog Monday. “It certainly takes more than two weeks to realize how it fits into your life. But in the future, this will not be the case. This is simply due to the immaturity of the market and the product.”

Investors will watch iPhone sales, and look for any detail on the Apple Watch when Apple reports earnings on Tuesday July 21.


  • Revenue: $49.22 billion, via Yahoo Finance (would be growth of 31.5%
  • EPS: $1.80, via Yahoo Finance (would be growth of 41%)
  • iPhone units: 49.4 million, via Fortune (would be growth of 40%)
  • Gross Margin: 39.5%, via Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray
  • Revenue guidance: $50 billion, via Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray

Apple Q3 earnings will be released tomorrow.

The estimations (Fortune) are exciting. iPhone sales should be soaring to 50 millions units.

For Apple watch, Apple doesn't plan to report sales. The estimation could be made in the report through "other products" category.

A smartwatch with a nice classical watch design + embedding complete Health Sensing features (including PPG for Heart Rate) + directly connected to the 3G cellular network (Smartphone will be no longer necessary.
