Enorme.
Filmmaker and digital artist Lisa Kaselak’s latest work in conjunction with creative director and designer Lee Billington “Tag: We’re It” is a wall of identical black droplets (a memory field) which as the observer approaches are framed into scannable Microsoft Tags (image below). Each Tag contains a pre-recorded video memory but you will have to view the installation to see what these are! You can do so at the Flatbed Gallery, Austin, Texas on Saturday, November 5th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
"Tag: We're It" is an aesthetic exploration of the relationship between memory and data. This digital art installation uses projectors to display a sea of dots on walls, creating a floating field of indistinguishable droplets. As visitors enter the space, they are provided with a frame, which allows them to reconstruct a Microsoft Tag. Hidden within are dozens of pre-recorded video memories, accessible once the frames have been placed. Using their smart phone or tablet, they can access the memories, maybe even encountering their own.
