Very interesting news.
Lead author on the paper Baoqing Sun said: “It might seem a bit counter-intuitive to think that more information can be captured from a detector which uses just a single pixel rather than the multi-megapixel detectors found in conventional digital cameras. However, digital camera sensors have a very limited sensitivity beyond the spectrum of visible light, whereas a single-pixel detector can easily be made to capture information far beyond the visible, reaching wavelengths from X-ray to TeraHertz.

"Merlin Mobility is developing a suite of web based tools that allows organizations to rapidly create and deploy augmented reality content. This recent application for pump manufacturer Sandpiper developed in collaboration with Sentrinsic Incorporated highlights the technical details of our platform. These details include our instruction architecture for managing multiple branching tasks with context sensitive voice, animations, videos, textual descriptions and intent-based presentation that ensures the user is viewing the desired content during each step. Features highlighted in this video include 3D tracking initialized by a QRCode, viewpoint dependent animations, intelligent part masking, dynamic arrows, object aware labeling and cuttaway view animations." The new Arduino robot looks a bit like a robot vacuum cleaner, but it has a lot more going for it and it certainly doesn't suck - well not unless you add an air pump to it. Designed as a collaboration between Arduino and Complubot, the new robot can be used as an easy entry to the world of robotics, both hardware and software. Via Club de TeleMatique Delete the scoop?
