QR Coding fish is not new (cf. Fresh Fish QR Code) but Handy in Crisfield, Maryland is helping restaurants promote sustainability with a new traceable QR Code artisanal fish program. The system enables restaurant owners to enter a 6 digit lot number, found on the outside of the fish packaging, into a trace register widget on the Handy website. They can then download a QR Code for adding to the restaurant menu or table tent. Customers scanning the QR Code can follow the path the fish took from catch to plate and find out further details about the fish.
