Andrés E. Henao's curator insight, April 27, 11:57 PM
By referring to the extended explanation about Gamification, it appears as an interesting proposal supported with the facts on the ease of learners' recall by doing, thus having games and stimulation on top of the things they remember the most. What might be expected about Gamification is a higher development on designing these games that do not exactly look as such but bring copious amounts of engagement. This is combined by the idea that recognizing interests does not equal providing immediately successful tasks.

But while would-be teachers are coming in comfortable with technology, this doesn’t translate into knowing how to use it to engage young minds or to tailor a lesson to meet the learning needs and styles of individual students. Although teacher candidates know how to operate the devices, they need to be taught how to use them to help kids learn.

“With the increasing popularity of Chromebooks, tablets, interactive whiteboards and apps in classrooms today, it’s evident that technology is a critical tool for today’s learners,” said Ted Brodheim, vice president of Vertical Business at Samsung Electronics America. “However, our new research highlights that teachers are not yet receiving full support to harness the power of technology and truly transform classroom learning into a 21st century experience.”

June Rumiko Klein's curator insight, September 5, 2015 7:16 PM

In all new technology, a successful implementation in the organization is the key ingredient to success.  A poor implementation does not mean the technology doesn't work.  A systems approach, with many adjustments for why "something failed" or didn't in all cases, will help to fine tune implementations.  Root cause analysis is key to avoiding reacting only to symptoms.  To do this type of analysis during and after implementation requires resources and leadership at the top.
