Immersive Storytelling: Managing the Transmedia Environment From the Back End

Immersive Storytelling: Managing the Transmedia Environment From the Back End | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it

Via The Digital Rocking Chair
Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

Thank you to The Digital Rocking Chair for scooping a much needed conversation, managing the transmedia environment from the back end! I also like how Frank Huerta explains transmedia the core concern of the IT team in this Data Center Journal article.

"Transmedia should not be confused with multimedia, which is the telling of a single story in multiple mediums; rather it is the telling of multiple stories over multiple mediums that fit together to tell one pervasive story."

"The challenges are clear: employees will need to access up-to-date creative data from anywhere in the world, and a subscription database will be required to allow consumers to access all media quickly and easily while satisfying the needs of the marketing executives on the back end."

6 Reasons Why Event Marketers Are Focusing on Super Fans

6 Reasons Why Event Marketers Are Focusing on Super Fans | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it

“Super fan” is a marketing buzzword of late. These people who are passionate about a brand or product have new ways to tell their friends...

Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

One of the key reasons we at IMPACC Now recommend Fanbridge  e-marketing system is that it teaches you how to best market yourself and your art.

Fans are ranked in four categories based on their level of interaction to your emails and social media shares:

  1. Casual Fans - fans actively engaged with your list
  2. Super Fans - fans highly engaged with your list
  3. At Risk Fans - fans becoming less engaged with your list
  4. Undefinded Fans - fans with not enough info to rank

Super Fans are those who don't just tell and share, they BUY. Marketing Strategist, Sheri Candler in Film Courage's Compilation, "Watch This Before You Launch A Crowdfunding Campaign" talks about the 99:1 Rule. In regards to your social media following, the rule states:

  • 90% of your following are lurkers, they never do anything beyond looking
  • 9% will retweet, like, put a thumbs up, but are not going to convert to a sale
  • 1% are your super core, hardcore fans aka super fans. They support everything you do, share your information, pay for your art, go to your concerts, etc.

The six characteristics of SuperFans as shared in this BizBash article are:

  1. They are already customers
  2. They'll tell their friends
  3. They are easy to find
  4. They are east to impress
  5. They generate content
  6. They give feedback

So, the moral of this story is, to get to know your audience, your fans so you may strategically know where and how to focus your energy, efforts, and income. Identify your Super Fans, create experiences for them, and involve them in your process. Your Super Fans will also help you convert other fans and recruit more Super Fans.

Six Tips for Mobile-Optimized Email Marketing

Six Tips for Mobile-Optimized Email Marketing | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it
Mobile - Consumers are demanding mobile-optimized emails, and businesses need to adjust their content and tactics accordingly. Those that don't adapt to meet this new customer demand are fated to fall behind.

Via eZangaInc
Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

One of the goals of PurT Marketing Madness is to help you cut through the clutter of unnecessary industry jargon, actions that are not relevant to small businesses, micro-enterprises, and home based businesses, and non-working strategies.

Your personal views about mobile and technology are irrelevant to your market's view and usage. All of your online content must be optimized for mobile. Even in your evaluating platforms to use for your business, find out up front is it optimized for mobile and if not what will it take to be optimized.

So, of course your email should be optimized for mobile! How many times do you disregard email content  that doesn't come through right on your phone? If you do it, then what do you think your audience is doing?

Click the headline to read on and incorporate the tips into your email marketing. Yo, like umm, being great is PurT Madness, riight?!

Join us today as we talk about the importance of SEO Landing Pages and how they should convert, creating content that converts customers, and also, having the right voice when addressing your audience.

Via Pauline C.
Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

Thank you, Pauline C. for this diamond in the rough. Once you get through the six minutes of slapstick style promo, you get to the core of this  podcast, meat of the matter, "7 Steps To Creating Content that Converts Customers" by Charles Lewis.

  1. Do A/B Testing

  2. Use the right content format: what’s going to be the easiest way for your audience to engage

  3. Include a story - how your product / service helped someone, solved a problem, etc.

  4. Add stats, factual data, graphs, charts, etc relevant to the product

  5. Give real-time examples (use published examples - link to them)

  6. Have the right voice, the right tone - make sure it translates well digitally - your personality should show through

  7. When blogging, Ask for comments - be creative, example... if you had this product how would you use it, etc.

I guess my #7 would be give a Call-To-Action. Asking for comments can be one of them. You just need to have a Call-To-Action and provide an easy way to respond whether it's data collection, "buy" button, set an appointment, download, join, etc.
Listen to the podcast for more details (click the headline).

Facebook Is Ending the Free Ride

Facebook Is Ending the Free Ride | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it
Facebook pulled the best practical joke of the internet age: the company convinced countless celebrities, bands, and "brands" that its service was the best way to reach people with eyeballs and money. Maybe it is! But now that companies have taken the bait, Facebook is holding the whole operation hostage.
Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

"...But smaller places and people will see their ability to self-promote basically zeroed out. The fans they've attracted will be pushed behind a curtain, only to be pulled back now and then when cash is on hand. If you've spent years trying to build up a following for yourself, this is a bummer—maybe a career-altering bummer..." - Sam Biddle

It's the small business, the solopreneur, non-profits, and causes that really concern us here at TaylorAdams Marketing & MgMt. These entities with already limited budgets where strategic use of social media allowed them a more level playing field.

Speaking to strategy...

Now, is time to begin using Facebook Groups strategically. Keep your groups niche and sharply focused. Become conversation focused, share stories, ask questions, and listen to your members answers. Post periodic reminders that you are a business or in business and post your business information. Create loyalty programs, contests, along with exclusive discounts and specials.

Your Facebook fan/brand page is to be used as a legitimacy tool and must contain all your pertinent information about the company, links and contacts. Do not expect much engagement unless you pay for advertising.

FYI: You should be advertising consistently across social media. For media buying help, contact Jacqueline Taylor-Adams at dobusiness@tayloradamsmarketing.com or call 1 (877) 552-7012, ext. 1111.

However, it is not always possible to know the nature of the interviewer. So, what can be done by you is prepare such a resume that will reflect your skills that will be needed by the concern...

Resume and Marketing? Yes. Japanese Designer Reinterprets Sportswear Classics

Japanese Designer Reinterprets Sportswear Classics | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it

Japanese producer and designer Nigo has teamed up with adidas Originals on a new men's clothing collection for autumn/winter 2014. Comprised of sportswear staples such as sweatpants, sweatshirts, track jackets and t-shirts, it sees adidas Originals' signature trefoil branding mixed with Nigo's bear head emblem. adidas Originals x Nigo Clothing: AW14 Collection...

Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

MARKETING LESSON: Adidas made a strategic move in its efforts to make the brand relevant to new younger loyal audiences. Attractors: Anime * Hip Hop * Industry Influences - DJs * A New Line within the Classic Adidas Brand * Still Reflects the Adidas Brand - Clean, Simple

3 things that drew me to this article:

1. I had followed guys-fashion-deals on tumblr and was drawn in this morning by my love for classic Adidas.

2. "Nigo" - I saw the above design on a white tee on the blog and was curious about this name / word. I was hoping it wasn't something derogatory. Well, I found out it was a Japanese designer who partnered with Adidas on a line. Now, I want to see the line and curious about how this partnership came about.

3. While considering to scoop this article for our IMPACC NOW magazine, I realized this is good opportunity to imprint our re-branding as your "Lifestyle Marketing Brand."

P.S. I love Adidas, but not as much a fan of anime, but I do understand Adidas choice and I think its brilliant!

The 3Ps of Great Connected Marketing | Project Reconnect

The 3Ps of Great Connected Marketing | Project Reconnect | Pur-T Marketing Madness | Scoop.it

As part of our work with the World Federation of Advertisers, we’ve been exploring the factors that define best practice marketing in today’s connected age.

Last month, we shared the marketing activities that the world’s top marketers believe are setting today’s gold standard, and what those particular brands do to succeed and stand out...

Jacqueline Taylor-Adams's insight:

Must Read. If you feel you are engaging all the right marketing tactics, but are not generating the leads, conversions, and/or loyalty that you desire, then maybe your off your Ps.

What drew me in? "Connected" in the headline.  Beyond being digitally connected, many times one may not feel connected to the audience. Then, an entire mind shift happened when I read the words on the image, "WE NEED TO THINK OF PEOPLE AS PART OF OUR BRANDS, NOT AS OUR 'CONSUMERS."

Minakshi presents The 3Ps of Great Connected Marketing across Purpose, Principles, and Participation in a three minute read that goes in depth with a great SlideShare and video. Here's some wisdom I that connected with me:

  • Making a profit isn't compelling to anyone outside of your company
  • For your customers... products and services are simply a means to an end
  • As a result, our role as marketers isn’t to make better things; rather, it’s to make things better – to make valuable contributions to people’s lives
  • Top marketers consistently highlight traits like transparency, sincerity and integrity
  • In a ‘media’ environment that is increasingly dominated by user-controlled devices...something more interesting, compelling and valuable than your advert is only a quick finger movement away.
  • Above all, brands need to demonstrate empathy
  • We need to replace interruption with interaction.

Well, I'm pretty sure I've wet your appetite for details! So, go forth and learn. (imagine me doing Dr. Spok's Romulan gesture! lol)
