Ultimate Guide to Prospecting: How Many Touchpoints, When, What Type | HubSpot | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
It’s incredibly rare that a prospect responds to a salesperson’s first outreach attempt. This necessitates following up … and following up on your follow ups.

But how many prospecting touchpoints should salespeople make before they call it quits? When should they send these messages? And should they email, call, or reach out in another way? The “how,” “when,” and “what” of following up is important to get right if a rep hopes to snag the buyer’s attention and make a sale.

Here’s a guide that can help you optimize your prospecting process and significantly improve your response and connect rates, even with no changes to the content of your messaging.

How many? Useful guidelines for sales touchpoints.

2 Charts That Prove the Importance of Custom LinkedIn Requests

2 Charts That Prove the Importance of Custom LinkedIn Requests | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it
Sending generic LinkedIn requests -- we all do it from time to time. I'm certainly guilty of it.

Maybe you're in a rush. Maybe you're lost for words. Maybe you think the recipient of the request won't care. Hey, it's not like "I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn" is offensive. What's the harm?

But as it turns out, generic LinkedIn requests can take a drastic toll on how the recipient views you. We all knew this from anecdotal stories, but now there's hard data to prove the damaging effect.

HubSpot's survey report "Is Social Selling Creepy?" shows that buyers and consumers react quite differently to a generic request than a customized one. Just look at the following two charts:...

Generic pitches on any social media, especially LinkedIn, are poor practice. Enough said!

The recent report also shows how consumers ranked 40 of the most prevalent, so-called "disruptive" brands in the US and UK. The biggest issue in marketing today, and the one we’re not discussing nearly enough, isn’t so much how to understand data. We can all learn and adapt to that. The biggest issue is that we’re not advancing our processes fast enough to actually put that data to work. According to a recent study by Digiday and Chute, marketers said that mining consumer insights (i.e. collecting data on content viewers) was the number one feature that would save their teams the most time if automated....

Santiaga Rodriguez 's curator insight, May 12, 2015 10:21 PM

As a business owner your main objective is to make money. Here, it is easily explained how. Like anything, having a good understanding of what you're working with makes all the difference. Pinterest easy interface makes posting effortless. The more you post and the more frequent you post it, the more traffic your business/page will create.

They talk about taking advantage of the site to generate income, they do so by making your pins colorful, avoiding faces, what type of images are pinned more as well as when and what to pin to get the most activity.

These few guidelines, I believe can make a huge difference in how your business is perceived. Like said before, having a solid understanding of what you are working with can only work in your favor. By knowing what people like to see, your pins are more likely to be shared and from there you become more successful.

70% of brand engagement is generated by users, not the brand. Therefore, your goal is to get follows; this gives you the best breakdown of how to make your page the most user friendly.

The picto-graphs make this a no brainer tool to use when trying to build a business and make money via Pinterest.
