Why Marketers Love Instagram And Pinterest

Why Marketers Love Instagram And Pinterest | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

The future of marketing is visual.

At least that's what about 3,000 marketers told online social media magazine Social Media Examiner in this year's Social Media Marketing Industry Report.

According to the report, marketers value social media marketing--especially visual marketing--more highly than ever before.

With 92% of marketers indicating that social media is an increasingly essential tool, there is also a growing trend towards using (or planning to use) visual content on more traditional platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, there has been an uptake in marketers using visually based platforms such as Pinterest, YouTube, and  Instagram.

Marketers are now looking to create original visuals and videos to engage audiences, and there’s no question that marketers need to think about shifting their content strategy that way....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

A new report finds marketers are increasingly turning towards visual platforms and content in place of more traditional social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

Combining Influencer & Content Marketing - PR Newswire

Combining Influencer & Content Marketing - PR Newswire | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

... Think about some industry leaders you follow. Do you place more value in information that they share? In general, people trust third party information on products or services over information provided by a brand. Zuberance found that offers shared by trusted advocates convert at a 4X-10X higher rate than offers sent by brands. This is why thought leaders are important. They provide trusted insight and opinion on an industry. Whatever they post is often viewed, retweeted and liked numerous times. And, it is trusted more than most marketing content.

Combining content marketing and influencer marketing is a great way to maximize your content strategy. A content marketing strategy with influencers in mind is a powerful asset for any brand. To combine the two, stay on top of the latest trends and tailor your content accordingly. Stories are newsworthy for a reason and influencers are always on the lookout for great content to publish. How does your brand fit into that story? How will you get people to read your story? Create content that relates to trends and includes your brand message so that influencers will advocate for you....

Why content marketing and influencer marketing are a powerful combination and how to do it right.

32 Tools providers discuss their favorite social media software | Ian Cleary | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

There is a lot of social media software tools available but which are the best ones? Find out what the social media tool providers think.

We come across great tools on a regular basis. One of my favorite recent ones is OptinMonster which is a WordPress plugin that helps build email subscribers. I switched it off a couple of weeks ago and seen a massive drop in subscribers. It’s awesome.

Of course, the tool providers all think that their own tool is the best, but which other tools do they like?

In this post, we asked the founders of various social media tools to tell us their favorite tools with only one condition… they could not pick their own tools.

Let’s pull news out of its hole | Doc Searls Weblog

Let’s pull news out of its hole | Doc Searls Weblog | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Most of what we call news is filler. The practice of filling space and time — stuffing “content” into a “news hole” — is a relic of an era when printing and broadcast space and time were limited, privately held, and paid for mostly by advertising, which requires ears and eyeballs showing up predictably and in fixed places.

The Internet obsoleted all of it, including the frame of news as filler.

There is no hole.

The river is a good metaphor for what news is, and should be. Sometimes it’s a trickle, sometimes a flood. But it always flows....

When Old Marketing Terms Hurt New Marketing Strategies | MediaPost

...Looking at dollars in ad spend or marketing support is not indicative of the actual effectiveness of a marketing program. But neither is reducing non-working marketing dollars. In fact, reducing this number may be an indication of being less efficient, and it should be actively discouraged as a strategy for P&G or any other marketer to improve their marketing bang for their buck.

For those wondering “What the heck are non-working dollars?” I’ll explain: All money spent on consumer-facing activities is classified as working dollars (think of paid media spend, sponsorships, in-store activation, etc.). All dollars spent before anything reaches consumers -- like TV commercial production cost, content creation development cost, but also agency fees, strategy development and research, etc. -- is classified as “non-working.”...

Why the Human Story Will Always Beat Brand Storytelling | Danny Brown

Why the Human Story Will Always Beat Brand Storytelling | Danny Brown | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

As long as people can see the difference between a brand and a human vision, brand storytelling will always play second fiddle to real human stories. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

There’s a large movement currently for brands to “tell their story”, to enable them to be more approachable to customers. Communications pro Gini Dietrich does a great job of showing the strengths of storytelling for brands on her leading Spin Sucks blog.

There are some great examples of brands that win when they insert a more story-like feel to their ad or marketing campaigns. Take Apple and Google, for instance, as highlighted by the two videos below....

The Most Effective Tips for Designing an Awesome Business Card

The Most Effective Tips for Designing an Awesome Business Card | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

A business card is an important part of your successful marketing plan. For its size and cost, it’s probably the most important part. Of course, you can’t expect your business card to tell the whole story about your business. A good business card design must be approached with great care to obtain as well as get the attention of new clients to purchase the item or service you are selling.

A good business card should not be taken for granted as an item for announcements, connecting with your clients or a way for you to achieve new connections. Since your card will speak for you long after your meeting is over, think of your business cards as your sales force; they need to reflect your company and your product the way you would....
