Brand Loyalty Can Be Won or Lost in 76 Seconds, According to LivePerson Global Consumer Engagement Research

Brand Loyalty Can Be Won or Lost in 76 Seconds, According to LivePerson Global Consumer Engagement Research | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

LivePerson, a provider of digital engagement solutions, today announced the results of its second annual Connecting with Customers research, a comprehensive global study examining trends in online behavior and consumer expectations. The survey revealed that 69% of consumers are more likely to be loyal to a brand that provides live, human assistance at critical moments, and 82% indicate their perception of a brand improves when live chat is available.

Most significantly, the research shows the window to win or lose brand loyalty is a mere 76 seconds. Consumers expect access to real-time help within 76 seconds, and if they don't get it, they choose the slower, more frustrating option of email or abandon the site entirely, according to the research....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Only fast and furious marketing can win with consumers.

Steve Quartz: the neuroscientist who studies what's 'cool' and why

Steve Quartz: the neuroscientist who studies what's 'cool' and why | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
We think of cool as ephemeral, a moving target. But a California neuroscientist and author of a new book on ‘neuromarketing’ says he’s got it down to a science.Certain aspects of coolness, Quartz and Asp argue, reside in an identifiable part of the brain. “Specifically, we found that buying a desirable item or even finding a retro t-shirt in a thrift store impacts a part of the brain known as the medial prefrontal cortex,” Quartz said.Put simply: cool things activate a pleasure center in the brain. “The concept of cool isn’t that complicated,” Quartz said. “But it’s interesting to look at how it gets played out. Cool is a social attribute, and as we dug into it, we saw that the concept has changed over the last forty or fifty years, from opposition and rebellion in the 1950s to today, where it is much more of a pro-social idea.”...

40 of the Best Social Media Analytics Tools for WordPress Users

40 of the Best Social Media Analytics Tools for WordPress Users | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

willIn past posts on social media and content strategy I’ve always included a section called something along the lines of “measure, iterate, & repeat”. This essential step in content strategy is where you take time to reflect on your content’s performance, make data driven changes to your existing strategy, and try again. All of which is pretty hard to do if you don’t have some way of measuring your efforts.

That’s where social media analytics tools come in. They allow you to make informed decisions about your content strategy and (ideally) improve with each round of iteration. Which is why in today’s post I’ll be providing an overview of a wide variety of social media analytics tools WordPress users may wish to integrate into their overall content strategy efforts. Beginning with some of the best free social media analytics tools available....

Ultimate Guide to Prospecting: How Many Touchpoints, When, What Type | HubSpot | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
It’s incredibly rare that a prospect responds to a salesperson’s first outreach attempt. This necessitates following up … and following up on your follow ups.

But how many prospecting touchpoints should salespeople make before they call it quits? When should they send these messages? And should they email, call, or reach out in another way? The “how,” “when,” and “what” of following up is important to get right if a rep hopes to snag the buyer’s attention and make a sale.

Here’s a guide that can help you optimize your prospecting process and significantly improve your response and connect rates, even with no changes to the content of your messaging.

"Marketing Seat At The Table" cartoon | Tom Fishburne: Marketoonist | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Around the executive table, marketing has traditionally had the hardest time proving their value. The correlation between marketing investment and revenue impact has often been fuzzy.

This is particularly true for consumer marketing. When a shopper picks up a particular bottle of shampoo in the grocery aisle, how much of that decision was influenced by marketing? How much of that decision related to years of brand investment, how much to the latest ad, how much to the recent packaging redesign, how much to the placement on shelf, how much to the in-store sales promotion? There are a lot of factors that go into any purchase. How much related to a brand-building message, and how much direct-response? Which tactics should get the credit, and therefore more investment in the future?...

Do you have the data? Key credibility question for marketing.

2 Charts That Prove the Importance of Custom LinkedIn Requests

2 Charts That Prove the Importance of Custom LinkedIn Requests | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
Sending generic LinkedIn requests -- we all do it from time to time. I'm certainly guilty of it.

Maybe you're in a rush. Maybe you're lost for words. Maybe you think the recipient of the request won't care. Hey, it's not like "I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn" is offensive. What's the harm?

But as it turns out, generic LinkedIn requests can take a drastic toll on how the recipient views you. We all knew this from anecdotal stories, but now there's hard data to prove the damaging effect.

HubSpot's survey report "Is Social Selling Creepy?" shows that buyers and consumers react quite differently to a generic request than a customized one. Just look at the following two charts:...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Generic pitches on any social media, especially LinkedIn, are poor practice. Enough said!

Warren said: "If one analyses what a brand or organisation needs to excel at to deliver marketing success in a digital age, the result is a long list of PR outputs. In the new communications agenda, everything is PR.

"But they warned that PR is woefully behind competitive industries when it comes to adopting technology and innovation, adding: "The creative and media agencies have invested vast sums of money and effort towards meeting the challenge of change, head-on, and PR agencies haven’t."...

The recent report also shows how consumers ranked 40 of the most prevalent, so-called "disruptive" brands in the US and UK. The biggest issue in marketing today, and the one we’re not discussing nearly enough, isn’t so much how to understand data. We can all learn and adapt to that. The biggest issue is that we’re not advancing our processes fast enough to actually put that data to work. According to a recent study by Digiday and Chute, marketers said that mining consumer insights (i.e. collecting data on content viewers) was the number one feature that would save their teams the most time if automated....
