Why Online Video Is a Must-Have for Your Mobile Marketing Strategy – Think with Google

Why Online Video Is a Must-Have for Your Mobile Marketing Strategy – Think with Google | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

In the mobile age, instead of a few "moments of truth" or a Zero Moment of Truth, consumers experience countless micro-moments throughout the day while exploring interests, solving problems, searching for products, and making decisions. These micro-moments are the new battleground for hearts, minds, and wallets.Increasingly, we're seeing that these moments happen while people are watching video on their mobile devices.

When it comes to digital video viewership, mobile's small but mighty screen is having a profound impact. In fact, 50% of global viewership on YouTube comes from mobile devices. And as we reported back in October, millennials are 2X more likely to be focused while watching video on mobile than while viewing it on TV.

To them, mobile isn't the second or third screen. It's the first. In our latest research with Ipsos MediaCT, we wanted to see how this enthusiasm for mobile video translates to brands. We surveyed U.S. consumers who watch videos on various devices and the results were striking. We found that smartphone video viewers are significantly more likely to watch, share, and feel personally connected to ads and branded video content than their counterparts watching on desktop or television are....

Create Animated Videos and Presentations at the Same Time on Wideo | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Wideo is a neat service for creating animated, Common Craft style videos in your web browser. I've been using and talking about the service for a couple of years now. Recently, Wideo added a new feature that allows you to generate presentations from your videos.

When you create a video in Wideo you do so by dragging and dropping clipart and text in storyboard frames. You set the position and animation sequence for each element in each storyboard frame. When you have completed your storyboards Wideo generates a video for you. The new presentation mode in Wideo will allow you to present each frame of your video independently just like in a slideshow....

Retail: 96% of shoppers use both online and physical stores | Evigo.com | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Ebay enterprise with CFI Group conducted a survey on over 500 shoppers to understand who is shopping online, how they are using the Internet and what matters most to maintain their loyalty.

“We all know that shoppers are using the Internet to research and purchase products these days, but as retailers are trying to catch up to the new fast-paced landscape of real-time omnichannel shopping, it is important to understand the online methods consumers are using and for what purpose,” said the report.

The study found that customers  are using multiple channels when shopping. When asked how often the shopping is done using both the store’s website and physical locations, 96% said the utilized both channels, and 49% use both channels frequently. Moreover, 32% are now using mobile devices to shop, which is said to grow in future. Now if you live in the world of B2B marketing, you have been inundated with statistics for the last four years claiming sales is being disintermediated by today’s empowered buyer, with statistics like “57% of the buying process is complete before a buyer talks to sales” or “70% of the buying process is now digital.”

But Sirius, to their credit, looked at this again. According to their research, more than 50% of buyers talked to a sales person at the beginning of the buying process. For more complex purchases, the figure increases to two-thirds!

The most impactful “content” according to their research? A sales presentation. Not a video. Not a white paper. Not any of the content we produce as marketers. But a real live presentation from sales....

Content Curation: First step to building influencer relationships for your content strategy - Traackr

Content Curation: First step to building influencer relationships for your content strategy - Traackr | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
There are many reasons why influencer amplification works. As Traackr’s Pierre Assayag puts it: rising above the noise is hard – even for established brands – so you need the help of credible, trusted, influential people in your industry.

So the question is: What is an easy way to get started with building influencer relationships?

Influencers typically don’t respond to cold calls. The agencies who believe that email campaigns to people with a Klout score above XX to promote content to share – they’ll finish to die soon if they’re not already extinct. For influencers to amplify your content, you need to build relationships with them.

There are several ways to build relationships with influencers but like any relationship building, you have to give before you get....

How To Spark Emotional Engagement In Your B2B Marketing To Close More Sales

How To Spark Emotional Engagement In Your B2B Marketing To Close More Sales | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

When we’re researching a purchase, something very odd can end up happening. One of the first things that we’ll end up doing is summarising and comparing the specifications of the solution we’re after. This can be anything from the processing speed of a phone to the qualifications of a project team - the effect happens regardless.

The challenge begins when you finally compile all of the options and then have to compare them. We might consider that rational choice can be the best way to make an end decision, but when we’re swamped in options, it can actually stop us from making the choice that will result in a sale.

So, what’s to be done? Potential customers still need specifications for what you offer. You also need to consider, though, how to foster an emotional impact and response, both in theory and in practice....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Buyers need more than specifications and features to make a purchase. They need to feel justified and reassured in their actions too and content can help.

Conquer The New Buying Process Before Your Competition Beats You To It

Conquer The New Buying Process Before Your Competition Beats You To It | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Inbound Marketing is drawing people in and attracting them to your website or brand with content driven information. There has been a fundamental shift in the way people seek out information and people are now searching online. Customers no longer wait for a phone call to obtain information about a product or service they might be interested in.

Content sharing, creative marketing and social media are now dominating buying habits. Inbound Marketing demands that instead of interrupting what people consume, we need to be what they want to consume, which is one of the many mission statements of Inbound Marketing.

This is “human friendly” marketing and it's marketing humans love. Pointing out ideas to people who particularly want to hear them is what Inbound is all about. Set goals to find out about what your searchers are interested in and create material specifically for your buyer persona (ideal customer)....

Everyone likes to say a picture is worth a thousand words, but those who do are really underestimating the value of a good visual.

For instance, Oreo was able to gain 1 million Facebook fans by posting creative images each day for 100 days as a part of a campaign for its 100 year anniversary. On Instagram, Heineken got customers to drink up its content by having users search for a certain individual in a crowd photo from the US Open for its “Crack the US Open” contest. 2 Things, 9 Tips Brand Marketers Can Learn from Publications

2 Things, 9 Tips Brand Marketers Can Learn from Publications | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Here's something all marketers could stand to learn. The best traditional publications are consumer-oriented, while brands often publish with a “me” mentality. When a business becomes so focused on sales numbers, it can quickly turn off audiences with sales- or spam-like content.

Traditional media, on the other hand, builds engaged, loyal audiences that it can monetize. By following the lead of successful publications, brands can use some of those dollars to attract qualified clients.

Find your tilt factor

Good content needs a differentiating element. Joe Pulizzi calls it “content tilt” — it leads to unique content that makes a publication stand out. The tilt depends on the brand’s distinct philosophy and audience. Respected publications know their audiences well, and they build these four traits into everything they publish...

Brands should take their lead from publications to build engaged audiences by following these four strategies and steps to success from the Content Marketing Institute. Recommended reading.  9/10

Slideshare is the digital marketing secret weapon - New research | Jay Baer | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

In my estimation, the reason why more experienced social media marketers gravitate toward Slideshare is that they eventually recognize that social media is about actions, not eyeballs. The “reach” offered by the larger consumer-oriented platforms is seductive, but if only a tiny percentage of your fans are seeing your posts in those venues, is the reach really reliable?

Slideshare’s audience is bigger than you might think, is terrific for lead generation, and is populated by people actively seeking information and resources (not dissimilar from a search engine, in that regard).
