The Daily Routines of Famous Writers

The Daily Routines of Famous Writers | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

"A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word on paper."

Kurt Vonnegut’s recently published daily routine made we wonder how other beloved writers organized their days. So I pored through various old diaries and interviews — many from the fantastic Paris Review archives — and culled a handful of writing routines from some of my favorite authors. Enjoy....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Inspiration from writers who inspire us with their craft including Bradbury, Didion, Hemingway, Miller, Kerouac, Franklin, Angelou and more. Many thanks to Maria Popova for sharing.

Illuminated Long Exposure Photos of Glowing Waterfalls

Illuminated Long Exposure Photos of Glowing Waterfalls | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
Neon Luminance is a brilliant light painting concept created by photographers Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard of From the Lenz multimedia productions.

The duo used high-powered Cyalume glow sticks of various colors dropped into the waterfalls of Northern California to create an amazing pallet of light paintings. They were able to then capture these brilliant exposures varying from 30 seconds to 7 minutes of submerged trails of light as these sticks floated through the water current. To accomplish the rainbow-like effect seen, they combined several sticks together experimenting with different patterns of illumination.

And for you environmentalists, don't worry no harm came to the surrounding nature in this process! The sticks which are buoyant, were never actually opened and all collected at the end of each exposure captured, thus eliminating any toxic gunk from entering the natural water supply....

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Amazing photo project.

5 Free Photo Editing Websites Every Blogger Should Use

5 Free Photo Editing Websites Every Blogger Should Use | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

There’s no denying how much easier it is to read lengthy articles when there are pictures and photographs interspersed throughout the text. Text alone can get overwhelming and boring, so having a pop of color or an interesting graphic to look at gives our brain a nice little break before we continue on throughout the article. However not all pictures come out exactly as we want them to, which makes photo editing an important part of the blogging process. And unless you’re a photo snob, you probably aren’t itching to spend a lot on photo-editing supplies. Luckily the Internet is stocked with free photo-editing websites, and some make photo-editing not only easy but also fun.

These five come out on top in terms of good, free photo-editing websites...
