Five Types of Social Media Influencers

Five Types of Social Media Influencers | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
In fact, in the age of social media, the definition is changing as how to identify influencers. Today, thanks to online applications, all social media users now have the opportunity to stand out and in turn become leaders in respect to their interests.   As a result, marketers and public relation professionals are forced to reassess their approach to define the notion influence on social networks.

Influencers on social media are either passionate individuals who turn out to be specialists or professionals involved who use Web 2.0 tools as part of their work. They take advantage of their presence on social networks for personal gain or as representative (or ambassador) a brand, company or organization. They produce and sharing relevant content, appealing to the interests of a community. This can result in regularly prompting discussions and interactions that might have influence on behaviors.

The 15 Best Infographics of 2014

The 15 Best Infographics of 2014 | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Every year people proclaim the death of something or other in marketing -- and the death of the infographic doesn't escape conversation. It's probably because while more people have caught on to the power of infographics for communications or marketing initiatives, not all of them are doing it well -- so it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

These 15, however, managed to stand out. My criteria here were not scientific. Twitter Rated Most Effective for Content Marketing | AllTwitter

Twitter Rated Most Effective for Content Marketing | AllTwitter | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

A new study of marketers in the United Kingdom has rated Twitter as the most effective social media platform for content marketing.

In the third annual Trends report, Axonn Media found that 89 percent of UK marketers used Twitter to distribute content and 75 percent said that they found it to be the most effective channel. This placed Twitter first ahead of LinkedIn which, while in use by 96 percent of marketers, was only cited as effective by 61 percent.

Facebook was given the thumbs up by just 29 percent of respondents.

Overall, social media finished third behind in-person events and blogs for effectiveness....
