Samsung Vs. Apple: Losing My Religion | MediaPost

Samsung Vs. Apple: Losing My Religion | MediaPost | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

...Samsung’s first spot that dared to question the hype surrounding Ultraorthodox Apple-ism broke just about a year ago, in late 2011. It showed throngs of faux-hipsters gathered in line outside retail outlets all over the country. While they were waiting (“only 9 hours to go!”) other civilians were moving around freely in the world, happily engaged with their Samsung Galaxies. One guy ogles the Galaxy model sheepishly from behind his barricade, and speaks for many when he says, “I could never get a Samsung. I’m creative.”

That’s a brave line to put into a Samsung spot. The response nails him and the economy he rode in on: “Dude, you’re a barista,” his friend deadpans....

[Great look at the marketing-ad-war between Samsung and Apple ~ Jeff]

Facebook vs Twitter vs Pinterest – 2013 Statistics

Facebook vs Twitter vs Pinterest – 2013 Statistics | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

The Social Media Statistics for 2013 across Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest provide us with an interesting opportunity to review where we may want to spend our social media dollars and time in the coming year.

2013 is shaping up to be a changing year in the online social media landscape. The Pinterest user base and relationship with online spend is likely to grow, Facebook is likely to roll out more products changing the landscape time and time again, and the Twitter user base is likely to grow, however Twitter needs to counter the issue of visual content quite quickly to compete in the e-commerce space. When considering where to spend your social dollars, be aware of your target audience, and wherever possible take the time to improve the visual nature of your content and you should begin to see some great results...

Content marketers and producers will find these stats useful, especially the length of time Pinterest users spend on site.

2013 The Year of Responsive Design [Infographic]

2013 The Year of Responsive Design [Infographic] | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it
With a multitude of mobile devices coming out almost every week, how can marketers ensure that their content is optimized for different device types, screen sizes, and capabilities?

Useful insight into Responsive Design and why it’s the going to be one of the biggest marketing trends in 2013.

Martin (Marty) Smith's curator insight, December 29, 2012 6:05 PM

I think 2013 will be the year of responsive design. I mean "responsive" in the broadest way possible. I think we will move from worrying about how the data looks to understanding the vast limitations of how we create and structure data.

Another way to say this is social CMS.
