The words and phrases that convert are almost always simple (Infographic) | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

“Members only” – “limited offer” – “guaranteed” – “discover” – “check out”…

If you wonder what these terms have in common, here is the answer. Brands consider them to be top performers. They are effective because they create a sense of urgency and pique people’s interest.

The other reason why these words and phrases sell has a lot to do with their simplicity. We recognize them instantly — and are more likely to take action as a result.

Social Media Best Practices for Infographics

Social Media Best Practices for Infographics | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Sharing your infographic that’s hosted on your website/blog and engaging the social sharing potential is key to maximizing the work you put in to creating your infographics.

Each social network has different image display requirements.

For example, tall infographics do not present well on Facebook. Facebook outlines horizontal images and a ratio of 1200 w x 627 h, meaning you may need to create some sharing images to drive social viewers to the main infographic.

The team at Lemonly put together a great infographic covering keys for social sharing on:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter

The Social Media Statistics for 2013 across Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest provide us with an interesting opportunity to review where we may want to spend our social media dollars and time in the coming year.

2013 is shaping up to be a changing year in the online social media landscape. The Pinterest user base and relationship with online spend is likely to grow, Facebook is likely to roll out more products changing the landscape time and time again, and the Twitter user base is likely to grow, however Twitter needs to counter the issue of visual content quite quickly to compete in the e-commerce space. When considering where to spend your social dollars, be aware of your target audience, and wherever possible take the time to improve the visual nature of your content and you should begin to see some great results...

Your 2014 Digital Marketing Roadmap - Marketing Technology Blog

Your 2014 Digital Marketing Roadmap - Marketing Technology Blog | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

Sometimes it’s easier to just follow the dotted line as you’re looking to ensure your digital marketing is balanced and complete. This infographic compliments of Two Legit aims to do just that, walking you through your web presence, mobile, ecommerce, outbound, inbound, content and social media marketing initiatives.+

One element lost in this infographic is the ability for all of the strategies to work with one another. For instance, utilizing your content marketing to power newsletters that are optimized for mobile devices. That’s not defined in this infographic but it’s an absolute necessity if you’d like to fully leverage email and ensure your emails are read properly. I’ve written before that the modern digital media consultant is more of a conductor, balancing the volumes of each strategy to make some sweet, sweet music!+

More often than not, we find that the key to marketing well isn’t doing everything… it’s balancing a combination of strategies, amplifying the impact by having them work together, and understanding how much of each strategy to initiate in order to maximize results. That said – this is still a great checklist to go down and ensure you’re not missing anything! This infographic also provides some statistics behind the digital marketing trends.

While I greatly appreciate my iPhone and its many self-computing functions, I have never taken the time to trace my gratitude back as far as Leonardo da Vinci or even as far as prehistoric cave drawings. According to this awesome infographic put together by The BOSS Group, I have many more to thank than just Steve Jobs.

The creative process would not have begun had people not had an intrinsic desire to communicate with one another. Over time we have discovered and invented new ways to relay information to increasingly larger groups of people. By inventing printing and computing methods we have increased the need for creative workers in virtually every field. Without the creative side of organizations, the first Macintosh would not have been introduced, brand management would not be possible, and communication through beautiful imagery would cease to exist.
