Everything We Had Wrong About Pinterest Marketing

Everything We Had Wrong About Pinterest Marketing | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

I’m a bit embarrassed to share my early Pinterest Pins. But here they are anyway.

A pin loaded with hashtags, a really odd-sized image, an image with a one-word description, a Pin with no description at all.I’ve made a lot of mistakes with Pinterest, both in the Pins I’ve created and in the strategies and plans I’ve set forth. And I’ve come to discover that Pinterest is wholly unique from Twitter and Facebook, and that I’ve had things quite wrong from the start.

All these mistakes have been a wonderful opportunity to learn. I’m grateful for the chance to keep improving my Pinterest strategy, and I’d love to share with you all my mistakes and the new perspectives I’ve gained from researching and experimenting with the best ways to Pin on Pinterest....

3 Reasons Your Company Should Be on Pinterest

3 Reasons Your Company Should Be on Pinterest | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Now, building up a buzzworthy profile on Pinterest isn’t easy – which is probably why only 56 percent of the globe’s top brands are present on the site. But there are 47 million potential customers using Pinterest. That user base might be drastically overshadowed by Facebook’s army of 1.44 billion.

Yet Pinterest users interact with content much differently than most web users – and it’s those little differences that are going to help your marketing department generate ROI.

That being said, it’s not all about the numbers. Bearing that in mind, here are three simple reasons you can’t afford to ignore Pinterest any longer....

I have been using Pinterest for almost a year now, and would recommend it to discerning professionals who would like to keep separate boards for different things. Pinterest also helps drive collaborative work as it is more likely that similar minded people will check out your boards and follow them. Added to this is the fact that as Facebook and Twitter become over used, Pinterest is a fresher platform which promotes newness. The advantage of having different boards is that you can file away different stuff in them. Teachers could have one board for lesson plans, another board for infographics, and yet another one for research materials and resources. I would definitely recommend Pinterest to all professionals who want to try something new and refreshing! Happy Pinning!

Pinterest was named the social network to watch in 2015. From this blog by simply measured  it gives a solid guide to making Pinterest for you. From making sure you use the right key words to "repinning" to gain followers and searches. A few of the tips I found to be the most effective were running a cross channel campaign; using your other social media outlets to get your page attraction. My favorite was # 5, " ditch the salesy schtick" aka dont be pushey- if people like your content, they will view and hopefully share your page!

This blog page is targeted obviously to business owners who want to use Pinterest to reach a certain target audience. That is the most positive thing about the site, it is very easy to get who you want to see your content, to view it. Based on what you post, where, when and especially key words you use, you can almost be guaranteed views, and by continuing to post similar things that got said views, followers, and in this case the more re-pinning the better. You want the viewers you seek out to share and show others- creating a snowball affect and hopefully proving effective.

This post a good question:

Is your brand—personal or professional?

Marketing yourself or a business can be very different in end goals, but may have a similar pathway. The 8 tips they give for Pinterest marketing are similar to that others suggest. Image is everything and with Pinterest, you're not going to read- initially. The image and small description is what leads users to look further into the post/ page. You want to be as to the point and use the most inciting image to capture the users attention. The use of " Rich Pins" gives you an edge up and a better, quicket insight to the users. These are great in giving the information there and then.

There are five types of rich pins:

Article pins include the headline, author, story description and linkProduct pins include real-time pricing, availability and where to buyRecipe pins include ingredients, cooking times and serving infoMovie pins include ratings, cast members and reviewsPlace pins include an address, phone number and mapThis can add something to your pins, that others don't have.  They emphasize descriptions as mentioned before.  Helpful detailsKeywordsOkay to be a couple sentences longPositive sentimentGive the reader something to do. If there’s an action they can take, share the next steps and add a link to somewhere useful. These are what users want. They also suggest what not to say, aka sales pitches and promo. information.  You want to be as user AND consumer friendly by giving them what they want without shoving it down their throat.  Overall, using all these tips on how to market via Pinterest is almost like the perfect pin. Its showing you EXACTLY what to do with DIY instructions.

Pop the Cork: Unleashing Pinterest's Marketing Potential

Pop the Cork: Unleashing Pinterest's Marketing Potential | Public Relations & Social Media Insight | Scoop.it

Within the last five years, Pinterest has truly made its mark on consumers across the country. Twenty-one percent of U.S. online adults visit Pinterest at least monthly--more than both Instagram (16 percent) and Google+ (16 percent)--making it the third most popular social network after Facebook (70 percent) and Twitter (22 percent).

Yet, despite its rising popularity, marketers find little value from branded boards, which clearly indicates room for growth. Overall, marketing leaders remain confused, as few comprehend how to leverage Pinterest in ways that will promote proactive marketing behaviors.

XForrester notes that only 56 percent of leading brands have created Pinterest boards. Those that have established their presence, however, neglect to post regularly, collect few followers, and see little engagement. Brands recognize Pinterest's potential, but fail to execute strategies that drive results, as the social network's ads currently offer limited targeting and effectiveness....

A quick glance at the digital scrapbook Pinterest makes it seem like the anti-Facebook. It has no stream filled with friends’ faces and baby pictures, but rather a sprawling, colorful grid of recipes, photographs of clothes and a shopping list of presents to buy for loved ones.

Yet Pinterest wants to be like Facebook in one notable way: Soon some of the slick-looking photos on its site may be advertisements from the world’s biggest consumer brands — ads, Pinterest hopes, users actually want to see.

On New Year’s Day, the company plans to start selling ads on the site to marketers, sounding the call that Pinterest is open for business and that it wants to compete for ad dollars with the likes of Google, Twitter and Facebook....

As a business owner your main objective is to make money. Here, it is easily explained how. Like anything, having a good understanding of what you're working with makes all the difference. Pinterest easy interface makes posting effortless. The more you post and the more frequent you post it, the more traffic your business/page will create.

They talk about taking advantage of the site to generate income, they do so by making your pins colorful, avoiding faces, what type of images are pinned more as well as when and what to pin to get the most activity.

These few guidelines, I believe can make a huge difference in how your business is perceived. Like said before, having a solid understanding of what you are working with can only work in your favor. By knowing what people like to see, your pins are more likely to be shared and from there you become more successful.

70% of brand engagement is generated by users, not the brand. Therefore, your goal is to get follows; this gives you the best breakdown of how to make your page the most user friendly.

The picto-graphs make this a no brainer tool to use when trying to build a business and make money via Pinterest.

Things like following people who post the things you posts or even joining groups that allow you to post content that coincides with the theme of that group. Pinterest wasn't initially intended for blogging, as Tumblr was. Pinterest is now entering the clog community because users can post things they've created for others to find via tagging and pinning. It can be personal, material, emotional, physically, etc. Pinterest can be used for so many different things now, which definitely opens their audience up a bit. Facebook is used mostly for connection only, whereas this site can be tamed for just about everyone. In childhood by playing a game of games
On Elsobooa lit candles him a ticking time bomb
Blew up the windows and doors
The neighbors do not abstain Asham and doorstep
And neither peace nor words nor Lin in the speech
As intensified promises and appeared to him some teeth and fangs
Send to a cell in the basement of First Instance Almokhtboh
School of the Arts learns beheadings
Each of the pious and the chapters declined and missed
As well as all of their thoughts and criticized saliva
The first thing he received from the lessons of whale elements and reasons
After opening the first book in the door .. Page pain and inflammation
See phrase (when you press the trigger owned nerves)
Educational Vosaúlna its content and grab rape
Because everyone around wolves
Do not take human beings owners
Be them always in the case of apprehension and distrust
And took the devils cohort
With the first bombing will lease and rewarded
Then Kvs Be Salt and Dub
You're on a date that enjoys the highest titles
And do not forget to take you the rest of the account
Van I conspirator you replied sweetly spotter
So what are waiting for those who learn by bouncing conspirator
Only the fact that he sees a mirage
The roommate wide Cupboard
And between him and the wide horizon veil
Blood Bank and the most suitable place for IPO
We see it one day inevitably will get punished
Whatever hid in the bush and hills
And in the Hereafter he mistreated.
