amid management upheaval and sales woes, jc penney has hired wpp's y&r to work on advertising that will help turn the retailer's fortunes around.
Vince Hoang's insight:

JCPenny has revolved its door to choose a capable and consumer-to-listened leader (CEO). Former CEO Ron Johnson, Celebrity from Apple Store, did not succeeded his job in a very short tenue. Now JCPenny has looked for a combined team of world-class and wellknow CMOs and magician advertises from different advertisement firms to work together for an overnight turnaround medicine.

What are one-size-fit-all medicines for JCPenny, a 100-years-plus-old retailer?

American consumers or shoppers have adopted with new IT and high-tech platforms and devices to purchase beside visiting brick-and-mortar stores. Mailed coupon programs have become a popular promotion strategy luring JCPenny shoppers to its stores. Selective brands are also familiar to middle-class and mid-aged customers. But overnight and days-long shippings have increased the traffice of online sales transactions not only for Amazon and other online stores but also mobile-and-Internet-based businesses. The cost of fuel and traffic jam have persuaded shoppers to choose online purchases more than physical visits and driving trips to stores. FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS have also offered flat-fee, fast-delivery and signiture-confirmation shipping options to allow shoppers feel secure and confortable with e-commerce environments.

Smartphone with embedded video-and-photo emails, social networking and social media, and apps, allow shoppers to check product information, prices and other details with family members, friends, peers, followers and others at livetime and immediately. If bargaining and location-based discounts are offered, shoppers or dinners will take those deals. Shopping environment or experience, brands and prices are three brick-and-mortar retailers having taken in to design their effective and win-win marketing plans. Who purchase at brick-and-mortar stores? What elements bring shoppers to stores? What brands impress shoppers?

Google’s Got A Problem. Search Ads Aren’t Just For Search Engines Anymore | TechCrunch

Google’s Got A Problem. Search Ads Aren’t Just For Search Engines Anymore | TechCrunch | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Search advertising became such a popular and lucrative juggernaut because it offered businesses the ability to reach and persuade people with true purchase intent.
Vince Hoang's insight:

Users' habits and searching engine favorite have become search advertisement revenues for companies like Google, Micrsoft and Yahoo. Twitter and Facebook have also gained their popularity because users can communicate with friends and followers in a large volume or big audience at live time. No matter how Twitter and Facebook have built their database and data mining architectures, those two social networking companies have establish their future user-gerating-content advertisement revenue generation. Why?

Query, tagline, and favorite key words are among common key elements for Facebook and Twitter discover new tools to offer right products and services to subscribers. Google have indexed all types of data and information to build the global free sources for online users to learn and discover interesting topics and subjects. Any word and phrase are typed on Google search bar all indexed and stored in Google's search indexed servers. The frequency, traffic and other interactive behaviors are used to rank such indexes on Google's database servers worldwide. In the old days, any business organization hired employees to manually input customers' profiles and other information into its database tables or systems. It means the company intentionally filtered data inflows for what it could use for business purposes. A university may use different database systems storing students' records, employees' records, course information (instructors, students, grades and contents). A hospital has its database system managing all patients' profiles, doctors' profiles, employees' profiles and medicine treatment records. Google's search engine database systems are executed any time a user types a word or phrase on Google search bard of Chrome browser or other browsers powered by Google search engine.

In a near future, Facebook and Twitter may increase users' daily hours of querying names, pages, taglines and key words on their home page or apps. It means users need to receive more answers and repplies from Facebook and Twitter. Facebook and Twitter have more jobs to improve their database systems to respond with right answers.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Oozes Innovation -- InformationWeek

Samsung Galaxy S4 Oozes Innovation -- InformationWeek | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Samsung Galaxy S4 may be today's best smartphone, with solid hardware and software tricks such as eye tracking and a gesture UI.
Vince Hoang's insight:

A brand can lead markets as the top-performer and most innovator; but as long as it can maintain on the top post, it still generates trust and appealing earning record to attract more investors owned its shares. It is a case for Apple. Samsung was the used-to-be follower to Apple in the Smartphone market, but now it has moved up to the top position with specific outperforming categories and criteria that can convince customers to choose Samsung Smartphone.

The Smartphone market is not a cash-rich-company market because Apple has still stashed more than $140 billion in cash. R&D and innovative product release cycles are two integrated and interdependent processes. It means Apple has outsourced many processes to Chinese and Taiwanese suppliers and subcontractors, including South Korean and Japanese part suppliers. Apple has still designed most key components and architectures for its products - iPhone, iPad and others. By reviewing Samsung's non-stop improvement milestones, consumers and investors can choose Samsung brand compared to other brands. There are a few categories for consumers and investors to evaluate:

1. Pricing strategies for quality, features, designs, and useful functions

2. Quality of materials and consistent operation processes

3. Energy consuming expectation and battery running times

4. New embedded technologies are added to differentiate a product to other rivals

5. Customers' comfortable scores and daily favorite tasks

6. Better-compared-in-class features

7. Relevant values between hardware and software architectures or platforms - the smaller a gap is the better customers feel toward the brand

In a long-run, Samsung has also extended its vision and business strategies from Smartphone, tablet to other consumer-oriented and market-driven demands in order to generate sufficient revenues and profits for its R&D budget and scale of the family-owned enterprise's business operations.

Chuyện “ngồi chơi xơi nước” và lương “ba cọc ba đồng”

Chuyện “ngồi chơi xơi nước” và lương “ba cọc ba đồng” | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Lao động trí thức, nhân viên văn phòng tại không ít cơ quan nhà nước cho rằng, họ đang phải nhận đồng lương “ba cọc, ba đồng”
Vince Hoang's insight:

A salary is a mutual economic compensation to motivate an employee to fulfill her assigned job on a basic of a week, month and year. Each job has a different level of sophistication, skills and expected knowledge. But employees naturally look for high salary jobs without pressure and high expectation. It is considered a paradox of working and performing at a workplace.

Is a brand related to paid salaries to employees?

Employees are also consumers who purchase goods and services at marketplaces. Employees also talk about their employers and other employers over subjects of salaries, working environment, benefits and products. When consumers are proud of their made products and services, the former become free-of-charge word-of-mouth advertisers for their own employers or favorite brands. A brand pays high salaries to employees, may be boasted as the best working place by its own employees.

Salaries are determined by different categories and criteria. An employee needs to fulfill her role to successfully complete her assigned tasks and other expected performances. Her company may ask to work overtime and help co-workers improve skills, knowledge and performance. One employee does a good job, she can impact positively on her peers. Bonuses may be applied on a scale of individuals, groups and department. Employees can recognize her performance can impact on her group's performance so that she and her group members need to collaborate and bring up everyone to a same level of performance for bonus and promotion. Her company also audits its earnings in an end of a year to determine where it make profits or not in order to share earnigs as dividends and bonus.

Nintendo returns to profit on weak yen boost - AJW by The Asahi Shimbun

Nintendo returns to profit on weak yen boost - AJW by The Asahi Shimbun | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Nintendo Co. returned to profit for the fiscal year ended March 31 as a lift from the weakening yen offset sales struggles caused by software delays for its latest home console Wii U.
Vince Hoang's insight:

Pricing can hit customers' pockets or spending decisions. A price is also determined by different factors - business operations cost, tax, transportation, warehouse management, and other issues. When a brand serves more than a market, it has more challenges and vulnerable factors such as currency exchange rates, political issues and fuel cost and foreign import tax.

To lower a price of products and services is not a simple task to adjust other related business processes and functions because each decision and change can impact the final results - employees' working attitudes, product and service quality, R&D budget, marketing strategies and business performance. In a case of exploiting a cheaper currency exchange rate, a brand can increase its market share or sales revenues in foreign markets. But everything has two opposite impacts - positive and negative. If a price changes to increase sales revenues, the brand will need to rethink on business operations and related costs in order to rework on upcoming business development maps and brand values.

Niche market segments are expensive, but consumers till buy because product quality and sentimental desires are more important than prices. Limited edition products also attract customers who only purchase rare and unique products to prove their social statuses and economic success.

At least 70 dead in Dhaka collapse

At least 70 dead in Dhaka collapse | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
An eight-storey building collapses on the outskirts of the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, killing at least 70 people and injuring hundreds.
Vince Hoang's insight:

Developing and emerging markets have a high demand of residential construction and infrastructural development projects such as apartment buildings, schools, shopping malls, bridges, highway roads and ports. Construction companies that are won bidders may measure their profits by using alternative materials and substitute technologies to lower their expenditure bills and maximize their return on investment ratios. That is one part of delivered projects' quality.

Architects, civil engineers and construction workers are qualified for their jobs, also need to understand a certain standards and principles in guaranteeing their works met government-required construction codes. It means profits go behind safety and security codes. Materials and implemented technologies are tested for ultimate results lasting as long as possible; but at least more 30 years or 50 years. Each project is built to serve particular purposes with particular safety and security codes and requirements. A brand is a construction company's trustful and quality values. The company has built many projects with customers' high expectation and satisfaction. If the company failed to meet such principles and commitments, customers would run away to find other better-performance and more-responsible companies.

Can 'Abenomics' Revitalize Japan?

Can 'Abenomics' Revitalize Japan? | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Noah Kristula-Green
Vince Hoang's insight:

Abenomics and Japan Inc are collaborated and integrated in the current policies initiated by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Economists and policy makers have debated on whether Abenomics can work to revitalize Japan?

No policy can win both sides. But each new policy can help a nation achieve a certain objective and subject goals. It is a case for Japan now.

What does Japan need now?

The answers are - more export trade gains, low unemployment rate and healthy market values. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has devalued Yen to boost made-in-Japan products and services to foreign markets. It means Japanese companies can have more sales orders to keep hiring employees or postpone their layoff decisions. Japanese consumers have jobs to pay their expenditure bills and maintain their healthy lifestyles. Companies earn expected revenues and profits, obviously enjoying high share prices to make Japan's stock market appealing to investors.

What are underneath of Abenomics? The future will answer. Japanese people have possessed most Japanese bonds and Japanese Yen savings. A Yen value is down, directly impacting on Japanese investors and savers in terms of spending powers and asset values. But their stock prices and paid dividends are trade-off compensation.

Marketing-Mix Models Get Pushback in Changing Media World | CMO Strategy - Advertising Age

Marketing-Mix Models Get Pushback in Changing Media World | CMO Strategy - Advertising Age | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
marketing-mix models are the de facto standard of evaluating return on investment, driving billions of dollars in marketing spending. but do they still work?
Vince Hoang's insight:

If a brand can secure its position in markets, it will confirm implemented approaches to achieve such goal. To test results requires different techniques in order to measure how much the brand has invested in marketing processes for return on investment. To apply specific marketing models can become a risky investment because the brand's marketers and advertisers do not know exactly how much spent money has impacted on sales revenues and earnings. Used marketing models may predict or project customers' behaviors in specific circumstances to lead to particular sales revenues.

Promotion, mailed and texted coupons and loyalty programs can increase sales transactions in particular days, weeks and holidays seasons. Other data mining and consumer-purchasing behaviors are analyzed for effective and profitable marketing strategies.

Customers also behave differently based on incomes, occupations, genders, ages, family status, and geography. The brand will take in those variables as direct and indirect factors to redesign high-return-on-investment marketing plans.

Rocket Internet-Backed Fashion Portal Zalora Launches iOS App, No Word Of Android Yet | TechCrunch

Rocket Internet-Backed Fashion Portal Zalora Launches iOS App, No Word Of Android Yet | TechCrunch | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Zalora, Rocket Internet's pan-Asian fashion retail site, has launched an iOS app, as it seeks to capture the growing base of consumers in Asia who are using smartphones as their primary, and sometimes only, way of getting online...
Vince Hoang's insight:

A brand only follows or chase customers. It is another concept of communicating with customers as frequently as possible at where customers like to be.

In the past, retailers only lured customers to brick-and-mortar stores with advertisement banners, discount coupons and other strategies. When logistics companies can boost sales revenues for retailers over online stores, customers can make online orders and receive packages delivered right at their front doors in one day or week. PC and laptop have helped retailers to boost sales revenues over e-commerce platforms since the Internet connection has hit the road everywhere at various Internet-connection speeds.

Smartphone with mobile and Wi-Fi connections can empower consumers with more tools not only for fun and entertainment activities but also business and shopping decisions. It has confirmed more successful stories of generating new sales revenues over Smartphone-compatible portals and mobile websites. Each brand serves particular groups of customers based on their incomes, ages, occupations, education and geographies. Technologies are evaluated to help the brand serve effectively and profitable those selective and target customers. But technology is one thing, the brand still needs other supportive and appropriately designed tools to increase online traffic, sales transactions and customer satisfaction.

Twitter Flash Crash Hints At Deeper Market Problems

Twitter Flash Crash Hints At Deeper Market Problems | Proliferating Your Brand Values | Scoop.it
Twitter may have caused a flash crash, but the problem is not Twitter's. Any market so vulnerable to an errant tweet probably has bigger problems.
Vince Hoang's insight:

A brand has many parts to manage as its unique and indispensable values. Among those values, the brand needs at least those core elements:

1) Security as personal privavy and other credential information to customers

2). Fast-and-convenient accessity to customers' needs and demands anytime and everywhere

3.) Quickly-responded customer services to customers' issues and concerns

A brand may deliver intangible services and products having higher standards of security and Internet-based service delivery and consistent uptime availability.

A brand may deliver physical benefits like consumer electronics products - Smartphone, cars, home appliance - depended on their product quality, prices, features, useful functions, designs and used materials, including energy consuming efficiency.

To build a good brand is reuired to render all common and differentiator elements as key advantages to define the brand values versus other rival brands.
