Microsoft Research has created this powerful and educational app that enables the user to create apps for mobile devices. The emphasis is on the unique features of mobile devices e.g. Touch screen, location, accelerometer, etc.  pretty easy to get started, but tough tto master all aspects. Definitely worth showing your more keen students at school!
