Paras Chadha's insight:

Great article, it shows why integrating media still challenges marketers, why social media integration is becoming one of the important areas of marketing and what are the barriers to social media integration. In integrating your marketing efforts you would also have to consider the cost effectiveness of doing so. For example a mum and dad business spending 99% of there time just managing the business may not have the funds nor the time to invest in an integrated program and if they did then would it really result in enough revenue to pay for the program.

I agree that those three key areas are certainly affected positively with a fully integrated communication mix. However, it is a very delicate task and is often rushed by many companies resulting in a disjointed and unbalanced mix, although not detrimental to the brand it is often not made the most of and with many companies room for improvement is definitely viable.

Good beginner's article surrounding the subject of the marketing communications mix. Gives 5 key steps, vital to creating a strong strategy; however it could go more in depth and discuss the tools available.
Reuben Bisley's comment, May 9, 2013 9:14 PM
I would have to agree with Keane, it is a good first step but lacks any real depth. Not to suggest that it isn't important to be able to work with and efficiently implement these steps in a marketing environment.
Ali White's comment, May 10, 2013 1:14 AM
I did the same article! I agree the 5 steps are easy to digest and understand, although basic they do provide a good base to build upon.
