This is how we impose our products (and - lack of - value system) on other countries. We won't accept products from other countries that don't meet our standards, so why are we demanding that they do?

And this doesn't even take into account the even bigger issue that we're allowing a drug in our food chain that much of the rest of the developed world has determined is not safe.

A move by Wal-Mart to require labels on products that contain genetically engineered ingredients could be influential in developing a national labeling program.

Ironically, Walmart and Washington state apples (NOT currently genetically modified) may be the leaders in turning the tide on requiring manufacturers to label their GM foods. Andy Yea! for Ben & Jerry's, my favorite ice cream, announcing they will remove all genetically modified ingredients from their ice cream by the end of this year!
