"Doodlecast for Kids is an iPad app that allows kids to draw on a whiteboard and record their voice while drawing; a kid's version for creating animated videos. Doodlecast for Kids has also a gallery of more than 20 story prompts to help struggling students. Students can either pick out one from the prompts or start from scratch."
"The school year is over! Yeah! But as you know, teachers' minds immediately turn to what we can do differently next year. Considering the fact that classroom management is one of the biggest challenges teachers face, we are always searching for something that will work."
"What follows is my Ignite talk for ISTE 2013. It was rejected by the selection committee. As I already conceptualized the talk and think it is such an important topic, I am disseminating my text and slides via my blog and Slideshare. First, Education 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 are described. Later, I discuss the consequences of Education 1.0 vs Education 3.0 on learners (and educators!) especially those that do not fit the mold of Education 1.0."
"It’s easy to forget the iPad’s been around for only three years, since it’s made such a big footprint in our day-to-day lives. It’s great for lean-back, leisurely weekend activities like watching a movie, video chatting with faraway relatives, and playing a few rounds of Words with Friends. But don’t leave it behind when it’s time to return to the salt mines Monday morning — turns out, the iPad works at the office almost as hard as you do. "
"Recently I happed upon a cleverly created integration of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Pinterest from the folks at Teachbytes. And as if fated, the same week, I had a conversation with a fabulous theater arts and film teacher, Sarah Yurko, who had shared how she is using Pinterest with her secondary students. Fascinated by the boards and ideas she shared, I asked her to detail her thoughts so I could celebrate these app-tastic ideas with the greater global iClassroom."
Recordium is a new iPad and iPhone for creating audio recordings. At first glance the app reminded me Sound Cloud. Like Sound Cloud, Recordium can be used to quickly create a spoken note or to record someone playing an instrument. Recordium can be used to trim the end or beginning of a recording. You can also snip out a middle portion of a recording and save it as a separate recording or trash it. Where Recordium gets interesting is in the annotation features. The app allows you to highlight and tag portions of your recordings. Your tags can even include pictures. Completed recordings can be shared to a number of services including Google Drive and Evernote.

"I’ve spent a few days playing with a great new addition to the Google Drive iPad app – comments! They can be used to share ideas with other collaborators or as a way of grading student work. So, if you haven’t had time to try them out yet, here’s how they work."
