"A client asked me to translate a licence contract for one of his own client’s product. While searching this particular company’s website for documentation, I found a very similar contract. In fact, it is almost the same and I would only have to change some details to match the original text I was given.
My question is: should I inform my client that the text has already been translated? Should I produce another translation myself? How ethical is it to use this translation as a reference, and to what extend?"
