WHY Is It A MUST To Have Basics Knowledge Of Cyber-Security In A Connected Technology World!?

WHY Is It A MUST To Have Basics Knowledge Of Cyber-Security In A Connected Technology World!? | Prionomy | Scoop.it

.It was already mentioned in my blog post ===> Authors Toolbox For Writing And Sharing <=== WHAT the tools are WE can use to to be sure that WE share ONLY stuff which is NOT infected with malware. In this blog post WE go for deeper THINKING and WE will learn WHY WE SHOULD do so.

Did YOU realize already that WE are living in the 21st Century and that WE nearly ALL are using the so called NEW TECHNOLOGIES, the internet, the smartphone(s), laptops, computers, tablets, household goods who are connected to the internet, and this on a daily base!? Did YOU ever started THINKING about such consequences concerning YOUR Privacy and vulnerability to Cyber-Security!?

As far as I know, from practice and praxis while talking to people, most people are NOT as nobody has given them advice, NOR were they taught about it in schools, and there is the problem!

There is a generation whose starting point for information & engagement is not printed materials (a book, a newspaper) – but online social platforms

Allan Shaw's curator insight, January 20, 2014 1:04 AM

There are two key elements here! The first is the engagement through peer review as the audience is real and critical. The second is the efficacy of repetition in the embedding within memory.

Teachers' Guide to Augmented reality Learning

Teachers' Guide to Augmented reality Learning | Prionomy | Scoop.it

Some people still confuse virtual reality with augmented reality when in fact there is a clear dividing line between the two concepts. In virtual reality, you only experience and see the virtual things.

But augmented reality - you're still seeing the real world; t just augments some virtual information on top of the real world. So, it gives you actual information but didn't replace the real world you're experiencing.

The power of Twitter

The power of Twitter | Prionomy | Scoop.it
How I became a convert to Twitter • The teaching and education community on Twitter is truly inspirational...

Twitter is a fantastic collaborative tool. As teachers, how often do we get to visit other schools? In my experience, very rarely. Twitter has enabled me to collaborate with teachers in schools across the country. Combine this with cloud services such as DropBox and Google Docs and you can create and share resources and ideas quickly and easily.

The site is also a great place for discussion. It is amazing how creative you can be in 140 characters. Teachers, academics, technologists and other experts come together on Twitter to chat and discuss a whole range of topics – you can follow and contribute to these discussions by using hash tags.

Google is Not God: We Need a New Philosophy for Education and Technology

Google is Not God: We Need a New Philosophy for Education and Technology | Prionomy | Scoop.it

Google is not God, but the omnipresent search engine commands an unworldly level of trust from its followers.

If they’re naive at Googling, it’s because the ability to judge information is almost never taught in school. Under 2001′s No Child Left Behind Act, elementary and high schools focus on prepping their pupils for reading and math exams.

===> And by the time kids get to college, professors assume they already have this skill. <===

Since MIT’s Lifelong Kindergarten group released Scratch in 2007, kids ages 8 to 13 have built more than 2.2 million animations, games, music, videos and stories using the kid-friendly programming language.

Scratch allows kids to snap together graphical blocks of instructions, like Lego bricks, to control sprites—the movable objects that perform actions. Sprites can dance, sing, run and talk.

”It's regretful to experience that there are still some major software vendors that do not understand how to properly work with researchers,” Eiram added.

“Hopefully, Apple will in the future strive to work better with researchers to ultimately protect their customers by providing more informative status updates and estimated fix dates instead of prioritizing antiquated internal policies higher.”

Learning Creativity and About Creativity From Lego | Upside Learning Blog

Learning Creativity and About Creativity From Lego | Upside Learning Blog | Prionomy | Scoop.it
Get to know how Lego encourages the development of the ability to create or generate ideas.

Creative skills? These three mainly:

- The ability to create/generate ideas, create things either virtual or real that have value, are new and surprising.

- Being imaginative and extending ideas beyond the boundaries in which they are generated – taking A and applying it to B.

- Being ‘creative’ within a system/framework. I studied engineering and found that it enabled a framework of thought that allowed me to be creative within its constraints.

Systematic creativity is encouraged and enabled in many disciplines such as the arts, science, design and of course, engineering.
