Cell lines and their use in research...

Cell lines and their use in research... | Primary Cells | Scoop.it
Jean-Francois TETU's insight:

"continue to proliferate indefinitely"...this is an idea we have to fight. Unfortunately some researchers do not realize that cell lines in culture can derive very far from the original model. My suggestions are 1) to use primary cells when possible or 2) make sure to screen your cell line for passage effect before doing any routine use. The work done per ICLAC is also very important to fight against misidentification, which is another problem using cell lines...

Human Liver MyoFibroblasts - HLMF | tebu-bio

Human Liver MyoFibroblasts - HLMF | tebu-bio | Primary Cells | Scoop.it
Human Liver MyoFibroblasts (HLMFs) represent a heterogenous population of alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA)-positive pro-fibrogenic cells, mainly found in chronically injured livers (i.e., fibrotic and or cirrhotic).
Jean-Francois TETU's insight:

Sourcing of high quality primary cells is often a challenge for R&D and drug discovery. tebu-bio is offering a wide range of human primary cells. Discover today human liver myofibroblasts for researchers working on mechanisms of liver diseases, like cirrhosis, NAFLD, etc

A new marker for early detection of blood vessels calcification

A new marker for early detection of blood vessels calcification | Primary Cells | Scoop.it
Jean-Francois TETU's insight:

This study used RAOSMCs from Cell Applications, one of the primary cells source distributed by tebu-bio in Europe. tebu-bio has developed a unique “primary cell sourcing program” to cover these needs and to provide Life scientists with high quality functional primary cells (freshly isolated human pancreatic islet cells, fresh & cryo hepatocytes, primary human cardiomyocytes, myofibroblasts…).
