I believe that distance and blended learning K-12 is a fascinating experience, but I wonder if it can be productive. It is true that it will teach students early in technology and assist them in future grades, I wonder if it can be successful. At times the attention spans for children can be short and I wonder it this can work as a disadvantage? What do you think?

Social media giants' features compared | Presentations | Scoop.it

Google+ recently took the second place in the race between social networks from Twitter with over half billion registered users (about half of them are active at least once a month). What could be the reason for such fast growth? And will there be a day in the near future when it overtakes Facebook?

Philosophical as it may sound, it's a question that you should consider with each piece of content you produce. How can it be repurposed?

I challenge you to do three things with each piece of content you produce in the next few weeks.

I like it. But can folks new to social media learn from this graphic? Is there a less complex place to start and work up to it?

Melinda Miller's comment, July 29, 2013 8:34 AM
Liz, if you go to the original link, you will see the first edition of this from 2008. It is much less complex because Social Networks were less. It might be good to take a look at itt, even though it is not up-to-date. If I see an infographic that is a bit simpler, I will try to think to post it here.

The future is not about a single device or set of devices. According to this author,

"The future is about access, anywhere learning and collaboration, both locally and globally. Teaching and learning is going to be social. Schoolsof the future could have a traditional cohort of students, as well as online only students who live across the country or even the world. Things are already starting to move this way with the emergence of massive open online courses (MOOCs)."
