Turtle Theme

Turtle Theme
suecsuecsue's insight:

I Had A Little Turtle

I had a little turtle
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap
Now he's stuck in bed
with a bubble in his throat.
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, POP!!

So I poured hot water
Up and down her leg,
Oh, that little chickie cried
And that little chickie begged;
Then that silly little chickie laid
A hard-boiled egg!

Dumb chick!

Preschool Education Songs & Fingerplays: Flowers & Plants

suecsuecsue's insight:

Sung to: "Pop! Goes the Weasel"

All around the forest ground
There's flowers everywhere.
There's pink, yellow, and purple too.
Here's one for you.

Flowers Tall and Small

Flowers tall, (let tall fingers stand up)
Flowers small, (let little finger and thumb stand up)
Count them one by one,
Blowing with the breezes
In the springtime sun!
1,2,3,4,5 (touch each finger as you count)

Three Little Tulips

Sung to: "Six Little Ducks"

Three little tulips I once grew,
A white one, a pink one, a red one too.
One little tulip grew, grew, grew.
It grew taller than the other two,
The other two, the other two.
It grew taller than the other two!

I'm a little Daisy

Sung to: "I'm a Little Teapot"

I'm a little daisy
Tall and slim (Stand on tiptoes)
Here are my petals (Place hands on side of head & wiggle fingers)
Here is my stem (Hold arms down at sides of legs)
When the sun comes up (Make sun with arms)
And the rain comes down (Flutter hands to floor like rain-end in crouching position)
I grow, grow, grow- up from the ground! (slowly raise up bring hand over head)

Springtime

suecsuecsue's insight:

First I was a raindrop, falling, falling.  First I was a raindrop, drop, drop, drop.

Next I was a puddle, puddle, puddle. Next I was a puddle with my friends.

Then there came some children, children, children. Then there came some children, SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

sing the song in a quiet voice, fingers wiggling in the air for rain falling, flat palm towards the floor in a circular motion for a puddle, when the children come slap the floor as you loudly say splash splash splash.

Preschool Science and Nature Study, Science for Kids | preschool links and activities | Scoop.it
Activities for preschool science and nature study to encourge your children to explore plants and animals and enjoy the outdoors.
suecsuecsue's insight:

Bird watching

Feed the birds that frequent your area and let your children begin to identify them. Set out bird feeders or a bird table. If necessary, get a nature guide and learn the names of them together. Learn about what foods they eat and then observe how the beaks of different birds are suited to their food types.
Identify males and females of the species and observe their behaviour.
Identify the nests of the birds. Learn about eggs and reproduction.
