6 online spaces where you should be growing your presence | memeburn

6 online spaces where you should be growing your presence | memeburn | PR and Reputation management | Scoop.it

Digital marketing is a little like mother’s love. You just keep doing it without conditions, expectations, or even hopes of returns.

If you think you have the resources for this, you are wrong. The right tools are all over the place, including right under your nose.

Using IM Creator and Duda, your website — and its mobile version — can be up in an hour.

HootSuite can help you set up social media updates for as far in the future as you like.

Campaign Monitor and MailChimp can help you template out your newsletters, and automate and analyze your email marketing campaigns.

You don’t need a fully laid out plan. Just start – that’s the key....

aggiungi la tua intuizione ...

Morgan Lefkof's curator insight, September 29, 2014 12:24 PM

The article begins by saying that digital marketing can help a company reach countless amounts of people. Every business wants to be “seen, heard, known, and trusted”. The problem is a company cannot be trusted when they only have a small presence online. This article explains that companies should build their presence in these six online places. The first online place is to start at home. The article explains the importance of blogging and how it will increase followers. The second online place is building an email list. These audiences are waiting and eager to hear from you, which means they are more likely to react to your marketing. Reaching out to web neighbors is the third online place. Once your blog is established, it is important to befriend other bloggers and comment on their posts. The fourth online place is social networks. This article recognizes networks like Google+, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The fifth place is online communities. Online community users tend to all have similar interests. So, if one of them use your business it is likely that others will too. The last online place is content hubs. These hubs allow companies to train and teach their customers.

I believe that all of these online places are very important. These days, people are more likely to search a company online before using them. If they have a large presence online with many reviews, the consumer is more likely to use them. Companies who have a low presence are less likely to be used.

I like this one!

Shannon Carroll's curator insight, September 3, 2014 8:26 PM

I found this article very interesting since I post content on the social media pages for the company I intern for. I already do some things listed in the article, including posting about dates that are fun celebrations, link to useful content, questions for the audience, and replying to messages just to name a few. Some new things I want to try include posting quotes, weekly themed posts, and interviewing staff members.

One quote from the article I really liked is, "Showing your human side is a good way to build a stronger connection with your audience." I will remember this as I continue this internship. Content like interviewing staff members is a good way to show the audience that we are people too.

Something else interesting is the 80/20 rule, which states “Post about something other than yourself 80% of the time and use the other 20% for self-promotion.” I post about the company’s products on social media, but I also share other relevant articles and things the audience may find interesting.

Purpose-Driven Content Marketing: Brands That Give and Get

Purpose-Driven Content Marketing: Brands That Give and Get | PR and Reputation management | Scoop.it

Purpose-driven content marketing is a way for a business or brand to bond with a target audience based on their shared needs and interests — including interest in supporting a worthy cause. But while most organizations recognize the importance of “giving back,” they aren’t always accustomed to creating content around their efforts in a way that will both engage their audience and drive them to participate. Success in this arena is all about developing the right strategy and executing it in an authentic, organic way that brings mutual benefit to everyone involved.

“The public broadcasters do a great job: NPR, BBC, etc. As journalism-driven enterprises, they’re natural content producers, unfettered by concerns around selling advertising,” says Rebecca Lieb, an analyst at Altimeter Group. “PETA has done some high profile and groundbreaking campaigns. I love American Express’ efforts around Small Business Saturday.”

To get some additional perspectives on the topic — and some best-of-breed examples — CMI asked a group of blog contributors, Online Training instructors, and Content Marketing Worldspeakers for their answers to the question, “What companies do you know of that are doing purpose-driven marketing well?” Following are some of their answers....

A Guide to Growing Your Twitter Audience

A Guide to Growing Your Twitter Audience | PR and Reputation management | Scoop.it

...We love Twitter for rapid interaction, ease of use and because it’s an online gateway to hordes of potential followers (and website visitors). Followers mean popularity, which in turn means trust, which then in turn could lead to customers and brand recognition. There are numerous ways to tap into this glowing hub of activity, watch Eric Kuhn's video for some insider tips.

As Twitter is such a fast flowing social network, doing simple things can often bring you great results very quickly. For example, running a competition is going to get you noticed faster than following someone in the hope they will follow you back because a competition gives Twitter users something that they want. Twitter may be fast and furious but by investing a little effort, it will reward you, eventually. This article will explain some of the ways you can quickly gain those much sought after Twitter followers....
