Recently the Hyatt Regency -McCormick Place's Executive Media Relations personal Liz Jaquez introduced herself as the voice behind the Hyatt Regency -McCormick Place media sites. She gave insight on her position and the previous positions that she held with the Hyatt.
The Hyatt Regency -McCormick is linked in all of the media networks outlets, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and blogs. It is updated on the regular. Ms. Jaquez, position has the responsibility to respond to costumers and future customers that have posted their questions and concerns on their page in a timely manner.
The article is focused more so on Liz Jaquez then on the hotel itself. From a PR stand point I have mix feeling on how this article was written. With having an understanding that this article primary focus was to shine the light on Liz Jaquez, However I feel as though how it was written was more so as a resume to potential employers.
I understand she has to give her background history with the company but the way she came off is she is marketing herself to other companies. Guessing that is not the case, otherwise she did a good job with sharing her stories on how she worked herself to the position that she in now.
Also I think it was a good Idea that the Hyatt allowed Liz time to shine and to give her recognition as the person that handles their media connections. Social media is one of the biggest factors of the success of different companies and businesses.
In relations to the book, I tied it to media relations and employee relations chapters in the book. In the employee relation chapter on page 34 it talks about the importance and benefits that longevity with a company can create great opportunity with the company and that is exactly the case for Liz. She has been with the company for many years and showed them that she is a hard worker and she has some good qualities that will benefit the company band in a positive light.
Also in the media relations chapter the importance of keeping your company social sites updated if very important. Liz does a great job of keeping the Hyatt blog page current. After every event that is hosted at the Hotel, she blogs about what experience the hotel ganged from the events. Over all it was a good idea for Liz and the Hyatt brand to introduce the face behind the social sites.
