Author John Steinbeck has stated this idea sbout corruption and power. He believes that power doesn't necessarily corrupt but, the thoughts of having it relinquished does. It can affect some more than others and it may show symptoms like betrayal and selfishness; Long after you've been infected. This is what cause someone to act inhumane and commit to evil decisions. If you are against this statement, look over towards the article about a poor Macbeth who was drawn into a world of tyranny.
