Is giving and helping only about making some else's life better and making you feel good? Could science play a part????

I guess i could understand why they would do this. they have made all this money, and they may not have any great need for it, so instead of wasting it on useless possessions and diamond rings, the put the money to good use. Giving other people hope is a great way to use your money, especially if you have a lot of it to handle!
