I feel that what MNLA has done is truly unforgivable, calling the blacks 'infiltrators' and chasing them out of their homes. What they have done truly increased the racial tensions in Mali. I feel that Mali needs to learn how to accept people from different races even when they are different, such that Mali will one day become a multi-racial country where people will lend a hand to those in need even if they were from a different race. Doing so will not only bring an agreement to the different races but also to bring peace in Mali.
This really saddens me that even in schools, students are using racist comments to hurt others. Khadeja might be different from the others, but she is not to be accused for being dangerous just because people from her race was known for terrorism. Even the shortest dialogues, words can hurt many. If Khadeja feels uncomfortable in her school, can school be deemed as one's second home even when it is where hurtful words can start spilling out on you? This is happening to many others, keep in mind that schooling is an important foundation to children, if this kind of racist thinking can be erased, it has to start from the beginning.
The article really shows what extent racial prejudice can result in. It is really sad to hear that racism can go to an extent where little to no basic education, housing and jobs are given to these Africans. These African refugees risked their lives to acquire a better life in Italy but are instead not treated well by the government. They deserve basic human rights and should not be neglected no matter how different they are. I really hope for the best that the government would do their best for these refugees as the government plays a really big role to promote anti-racism.
