Using the see think wonder. Asia's are the poorest as it holds majority of the world's population. They have insufficient education, medicine, clean water and sanitation because of the world population. People who are not educated are not aware of birth control thus they keep giving birth and more people needs to rely on water, food etc. I think that all should receive education. Like Financial Assistant Support (FAS) like what we have. Help to subsidize costs to those who need support financially. Thus i wonder what will the government do to help those who are in need. Why are not the neighboring countries trying to help fight poverty?
I have always noticed food pricing is always increasing. Food and water is the most basic thing in life. But how are we going to survive when food pricing is going up and up without our salary going up too? Thus more and more families are unable to put food on the table. Potatoes, one of the cheapest things with nutritional values, have risen up by 116 cents. Which is a lot. By doing these how can families continue to feed their families? How are they going to afford food when food pricing is increasing and increasing? Thus all these make the parents starve themselves and allow to children to eat without them going hungry in school. I think this is wrong because by doing this, they are going to fall sick and by falling sick they are unable to take care of their childrens. Which is causing more problems. There is families with insufficient food to feed their families around us and wants us to be more aware and to raise awareness. I will stop wasting food and only buying the right amount of food as buying more than enough food the food left aside for next time to cook will go bad. It is also to save money. I will treasure and count it as a blessing if i see food on the table and not to whine when i do not like the dish. I will treasure what i have. Can the Food Industry lower the price of the food and not increase it? It will really help alot of people by doing so.
Extreme poverty in the United States is giving rise to a group of infections known as the neglected tropical diseases, which we ordinarily think of as confined to developing countries.
Poor Americans are more likely to contract tropical diseases such as Chagas disease and dengue fever. Question to ponder: what geographic factors (physical and human) lead poor people in the United States to be more heavily impacted by the spread to these diseases?
I see that alot of Americans are prone to get infected by tropical diseases which are especially endemic in low-income populations. For example; Dengue fever, parasite infections that are caused by a larval pork tapeworm and alot of baterial infections casued by insects. But most of the people living in poverty are too poor to visit the doctors. But the staffs there are not well-trained to recongnize and manage the dieases as they have no money to further their studies. I think that the people who has the dieases are sad, irritated and unhappy as poverty are declining their health making their love ones pass away, irritated as in itchy, pain all over their bodies and they are helpless as they do not know how to treat it. I think that they should have a free clinic where volunteers who knows how to treat dieseases should go there and volunteer to help those in need. It will really help them alot and will save their lifes. Visiting the doctors will be like throwing their money into the sea as the staffs there are not really trained very well and it will be very expensive to go to the doctor as they only earn $2. So i think the volunteers should teach the people there and the staffs how to manage and recongnize dieases and help the people. They also need safer and effective medicines. For example; treating the chagas diesease, it is a parasite that causes sleeping sickness, they would need a specific medication to treat it. Like for pregnant woman, they can not take this type of medicine to treat them. Thus those who knows how to practice medicines would need to teach those in the US so that they can treat the people there. I wonder if the government did anything to help them? Did the people there tried to reach the government for help?
After reading it, i learnt that education is important. Without education, you will be poor as no onw would want to employ you. It also allows you to get a higher paying job, which allows you to be more financially secure.I think that the Students Rising Above (SRA) is a good motivation to get you working. As it helps you finiancially to break through poverty.Through Education, we can break through poverty and wants us to be aware and to raise awareness. I would start to study and start to think that education is important. In order to step out of poverty, volunteers can go to third world and educate the poor.
Without water, people cannot do things like growing agriculture, building house, not being able to stay healthy, not being able to attend school due to helping family to transport water and to go to work. But most importantly, they WASTE their time collecting water. People as young as five years old collect water and women carrying water with the weight of a baby hippo. Collecting their daily needs, water, takes up alot of time and there will not be sufficient time to do other things.Africa use up 40 billion hours per year to collect waters and that is alot of time. There are people not being able to access to clean water and wants more people to be aware of it and to spread awareness. After reading this article, i will really treasure accessing to clean water and definitely not to waste water. In Singapore, just by opening the tap and we have the access to clean water. Not like Africa, when muddy, dirty water is already considered as a blessing to them. People are helping to build a well. But building a well does not means it is safe and clean as the well is deep and more prone to accidents. People there have no food thus having no energy. They may end up falling in to the well and polute it. People may throw some dirty stuff into the well. If the person throw his/ her blood and she/ him has HIV, the people collecting the water will be infected by his illness.
