Government aid keeps millions out of poverty | Poverty assignment_deepan arumugam | Scoop.it
Government assistance helps millions people from falling into poverty last year. Advocates fear that cuts to federal and state aid will push many into poverty in the future.
Deepan Luigi's insight:

From this article it an be observed that the support oof the government is alomost essential for many people to keep out of the poverty line thus bringing to the issue the integrity of governments in fragile states such as congo where corruptionn is widespread.

Therore, i believe that the behaviour of the government is the only way for poverty to be eradicated as corruption will only low down progress or bring it to a standstill so particaption of government agencies is essential for people living under the poverty line and countries where governments are actively keeping people out of poverty shoud be a modl for other nations

Deepan Luigi's insight:

the word poverty is always related to exteme hunger and the lack of human rights which we take for granted in developed countries such as singapore. But many people do not know about the satistics abot the war against poverty and that we are actually winnning with the help of 127 donor nations the president of the world bank says that poverty can effectively be ended by 2030.music to the hears of humanitariens worldwide  but we must reflect on what we have learnt from past event and how this promise of eradicating poverty has been mentioned by many world politicions many times yet failing to delier on their promise.

But one key factor that must not be forgotton is that the reason why the war against poverty is succesfull is due to the rapid growth of the economys worldwide with GDP's of nations increasing at a steady rate of 6% but much has changed since the economic slump of 2008 and how its still affecting economys worlwide  therefore even though the war against poverty might be reaching an end i sincerly believe that we as people from more comfortable backgrounds should still do the little things we do to eradicate poverty as the support of 127 nations does seem promising but it does not gurantee the end of poverty

Is Education the Cure for Poverty?

Is Education the Cure for Poverty? | Poverty assignment_deepan arumugam | Scoop.it
Economists may disagree a lot on policy, but we all agree on the "education premium" -- the earnings boost associated with more education. But what role can education play in a realistic ant
Deepan Luigi's insight:

It is widely belived that education is the only soulution to breaking the poverty cycle. But it can be widely observed in countries such as the US which has a huge number of colledge graduates who are jobles and this article specifiacally states that even those who study well do not get ahead alot of their piers dispte the aptitude for learning as meritocracy is not applied worldwide.

So is education really the only way to cure poverty it has to be understood that the low wage economy will always prduce the most jobs as its the most in demand and requires the least in training due to the structure of many economies worldwide

Which beage the question is education really the solution to poverty is has to be understood that despite the fact you have a degree or a graduation certificate from high school the nature of the economy, of  respctive countries severly affect the outcome.

Thus in coonclusion, education is a need to break the poverty cycle but very much relies on the stucture and the economy and the governments that manage it
