Before i read this article, i thought that only Asia and Africa are experiencing poverty. However, this article has showed me that even Americas face such issues. In this article it states that 16 percent of people in the Americas have gone hungry due to finances and rising food prices. If this trend of rising food prices continues, then more and more families will fall in to the category. It is going to be a great challenge for the government to solve this problem but they have to do something about it. I have learnt that we should never take things forgranted as we might not know when we are going to fell into the category.
Before i even read this article, i thought that only health issues and social issues will affect i child experiencing poverty. However, after reading the article i was amazed to know that poverty could affect a child's education. I personally think that the only way to fight poverty is by education. Even if u are in the poorest nation, education could help i person in many ways. However, it is shocking to know that poverty affects education as the children lose their concentration. This affects their test scores. I hope that the children will overcome these challenges to excel in their studies as education is the best way to fight poverty. According to me, nothing can replace education.
Before i even read the article, i was suprised by the fact that poverty increases the rate of mental illness. The title alaso told me that this is being a vicious cycle. The concept of this article is that the more the rate of poverty, the more health issues the people face. The poor people also face social issues such as living in violant neighbourhoods because of poverty. They can only afford to eat bad preserved foods as they are much cheaper than the nutrional foods. I have learnt to be more grateful for what i have after reading the article.
In 1998, Asia accounted for about two-thirds of the world’s 1.2 billion poorest people. I was shocked when i read this article as i did not know that Asia was facing such problem. I can see a family of three children and a mother in the picture. I can see that they are experiencing poverty as they wearing very dirty clothes which are also torn. I think the children are not satisfied with what they have by they are looks. They feel that they need something more. Why the lady have three children when she know that she is facing poverty? What are they going to do to fight poverty?

Before i even read this article, i knew that water is essential for our lives. We can never survive without water. We not only need water for drinking but we also need water for daily purposes such as cooking, bathing, for growing crops and many more. People in the Moroccan Desert are facing problems such as climate change, population growth, poverty and conflicts over water rights. However, their main probelm is lack of water supply. They need to channel underground water by khettaras which are lengthy underground tunnels. However, their running dry of many khettaras. I have learnt that water is very precious from this article. Hope that i could help them in some way.
