Isabel C. Valverde's insight:

hybrid handshake through different immersive interfaces. that's all regarding physical-virtual interactions? For the development of the possibilities of this touch and mixed-reality encounters and engagements there's the need to change mentalities and to be open to a cross-cultural embodied communication to enlarge our experience of ourselves within the world. This hybrid relational embodied language is actually erased during late childhood in order do become "civilized humans", that is to become limited, formatted, mechanized, controlled. Or else, it stays unconscious for most humans, while being categorized by sociologists and others.

In the Brain, Memories Are Inextricably Tied to Place. Importance of embodiment in change processes

In the Brain, Memories Are Inextricably Tied to Place. Importance of embodiment in change processes | Posthuman Corporealities | Scoop.it

It’s no coincidence that, when recalling a tragedy, we ask where someone was: “Where were you when President Kennedy was shot?” Psychologists hypothesize that we lock in that memory by linking it to a where, that integrating many stimuli together helps us remember something particularly important.

TonnievanderZouwen's curator insight, August 16, 2014 5:28 AM

How you remember experiences is linked to place, where you were when you experienced something important. The setting creates a place where the body's senses are integrated. This relates to the importance of embodiment in change processes. Working on a task that is important to stakeholders and creating an active setting are two success factors in the Large Scale Interventions approach for whole system change. I would like to stress the role of EMBODIMENT in learning by doing, not seperationg thinking and doing. Our body has its own memory, integrating many things we are not even aware of.
