My H+ Reboot

My H+ Reboot | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it
By the end of 2006, the events of my life had more or less come to a head. My marriage had failed. My job was consuming me. I was drinking – not enough to do myself immediate physical or professional damage, but enough where I knew it was a budding problem. I was overweight and well on the way to obesity. Although I considered myself active and tried to run a couple miles a couple times a week, it was not enough and I was out of shape.

Bacterial Trick Keeps Robots In Sync

Bacterial Trick Keeps Robots In Sync | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it
You don’t have to watch Dancing with the Stars to know that keeping in sync is tough — and it’s even tougher for a robot. A new approach keeps several robots in step, and even enables a dancing robot that loses its footing to seamlessly rejoin its synchronized peers.

MIT Students Create The Future With An iPad And A Glove | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it

You’ve seen Stephen Spielberg’s film, Minority Report, right? Tom Cruise’s character stands in front of virtual screens, puts on a pair of gloves, and manipulates the data and the memories without touching a thing. Well, the super brains at MIT’s media lab have taken the first step toward that reality, using Apple’s magical device as a display screen and a special glove/attachment combo to interact with it.

Digital Dualism and Stories of the Real | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it
A couple of weeks ago, my interest was piqued by an article boasting the intriguing headline: “‘Losing yourself’ in a fictional character can affect your real life.” Essentially, researchers at Ohio State University have evidence that suggests very strongly that people who become emotionally engaged with a character in a story are more likely to alter their behavior according to how that character behaves, even if only temporarily.
