Are you dehumanized by the city?

Are you dehumanized by the city? | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it

Most people have "been there, done that" or they are doing it now. Most people avoid it like the plague, but some people live and work in it. There you are, and you're stuck in your car, during rush hour traffic, and it's bumper to bumperon some main downtown thoroughfare, boulevard or even on the "expressway"! You've been living in the city for awhile, breathing in the exhaust and fumes from factories and millions of cars; the tall buildings and cement cities just keep it all hovering over you, blocking out the true sunlight and all your vitamin D. What can you do?

Faire ensemble 2020

Faire ensemble 2020 | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it

 une soixantaine de tendances, jugées particulièrement structurantes pour l’avenir, sont représentées sur cette infographie ;

How to Build the Post-Human Brain

How to Build the Post-Human Brain | Post-Sapiens, les êtres technologiques | Scoop.it

By 2040, humans just might be nearly indestructible, according to Ray Kurzweil and some of the world’s top scientists. Advances in technology and medicine will obliterate the maladies of today, and make life expectancy rates skyrocket. As humankind transcends physical pains and we live longer lives, the question remains: is our brain equipped to deal with an infinite lifetime of memories? And if not, then what happens to the way we remember our lives? Will we be able to download our thoughts and memories somehow? And where, then, does machine end and human begin? Join a discussion of futurists who live and work at the convergence of technology, memories, and science.
