Dunfermline: Crime down 50% in Fife under SNP | Scottish National Party

Dunfermline: Crime down 50% in Fife under SNP | Scottish National Party | Politics Scotland | Scoop.it

The SNP has today (Monday) highlighted the contrasting records of Labour and the SNP in tackling crime in Fife.

Analysis of official figures shows that recorded Crime in Fife has fallen by 50% since 2006/7 – from 30,304 recorded crimes to 15,230 last year. The figures follow a national trend in Scotland since the SNP took office, with recorded crime across the country now at a 39-year low – but recorded crime is falling more in Fife than anywhere else in Scotland.

A sustainable future for our rural communities | Alison Johnstone MSP

A sustainable future for our rural communities | Alison Johnstone MSP | Politics Scotland | Scoop.it

Scotland gets a bad deal from the common agricultural policy. Many members have already expressed frustration at that and I share their concerns. It is patently unfair for Scotland to receive such low funds relative to others in Europe. Relative to others in the UK, we also receive less. Scotland’s high percentage of rough grazing is part of the reason.

The Eclipse Of Scottish Nationalism | National Collective

The Eclipse Of Scottish Nationalism | National Collective | Politics Scotland | Scoop.it

There are two schools of thought on what it means to be Scottish today.

The first contends that Scottish identity and culture should be treasured, that Scotland is ‘the best country in the world’ as it is, but that the independence movement is only perpetuating regressive ideas of Scotland and cultural cringe.
