"Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 Event: A Fashion Show All Its Own" | Pret-a-Reporter | 02/11/16

"Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 Event: A Fashion Show All Its Own" | Pret-a-Reporter | 02/11/16 | Politics From My Point Of View | Scoop.it
It looked like the top of a chocolate soufflé at first, the parachute fabric that puffed into the shape of a dome and spread across the floor of Madison Square Garden as the nearly 20,000 guests trickled in for Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 event — arguably this season’s most anticipated New York Fashion Week show. It was evident from the moment it began that the show would channel the sort of scale that Parisian fashion houses like Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel are known for (Karl Lagerfeld, for example, transformed the Grand Palais into a flight terminal for his spring collection in September). But ultimately, it was hard to compare the event to any other fashion show that has come before it.
Franklin Delano Williams's insight:

.....Our son, Morgan Bobrow-Williams, said this about the show, "Today I got to be in the Yeezy Season 3 Show and it was definitely an experience. The album was next level and Season 3 is fire. Thankful"

It took 150 years after America officially abolished slavery to get a national museum on the black experience.
Franklin Delano Williams's insight:

QUOTE FROM ARTICLE:

"THE NMAAHC HAS been long in the making—100 years, to be precise. Its genesis dates to 1915. Fifty years earlier, in May 1865, President Andrew Johnson organized a Grand Review of the Armies to honor the troops. But black soldiers who had fought in the Civil War were not allowed to join the military procession from Capitol Hill down Pennsylvania Avenue.

In 1915, at the 50th anniversary of the original Union victory parade, black Union veterans were permitted to participate. A Committee of Colored Citizens was organized to help defray expenses. The veterans group would evolve into the National Memorial Association, which lobbied Congress to authorize the construction of a Negro Memorial."

And the world as seen through the eyes of a woman will not result in revolution, but it will mark a change towards greater gender equality. Visualizing Hillary raising her right hand to take the oath of office, and Bill holding the Bible, will tell every little girl and boy, that, yes, women can achieve anything.
Franklin Delano Williams's insight:

QUOTE:

Hillary Clinton is not the first progressive Democratic woman to be challenged by Bernie Sanders. He ran against me in 1986 when I was running for my second term as governor of Vermont. At that time he had little affinity for the Democratic Party. When advised that his third-party candidacy might result in a Republican victory, he saw no difference between Democrats and Republicans, saying: “It is absolutely fair to say you are dealing with Tweedledum and Tweedledee.”

Voters did not agree. Sanders received 14 percent of the vote, the Republican candidate, Peter Smith received 38 percent, and I won with 47 percent.---- Madeleine May Kunin, Former Vermont Governor

Franklin Delano Williams's insight:

...."On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders 53/32. Sanders does keep gradually moving closer- our previous couple polls had her leading 56/28 in December and 59/26 in November. But he still has some weaknesses that may make it hard for him to catch up. Primary among these is African American voters- Clinton leads 82/8 with them and has a 79/9 favorability compared to 27/23 for Sanders. That does suggest some possibility for Sanders to improve his position- part of his problem is just that black voters don’t really know him yet- but he’s starting at a tremendous disadvantage that will make the upcoming run of Southern primaries very difficult for him."----- PPP

"Clinton Recounts Her Stealth Ventures Out Of The White House As First Lady" | TPM | 02/03/16 | Politics From My Point Of View | Scoop.it
At Wednesday's CNN town hall in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton recounted stealthily venturing out of the White House in a plain-clothes disguise while first lady.

Asked by Anderson Cooper what she would do if she could be anynmous for a day, she explained she already had some experience from when she was first lady.

"I would put on a baseball cap and sunglasses and, you know, sweat pants and a sweat shirt and pull my hair back and I would go walk," she said. "I would tell the Secret Service they had to wear casual clothes, they had to take the thing out of their ears, they had to look like they were just tourists."

"Hillary Clinton is Evolution" | Foundation for a Bioeconomy | 01/21/16 | Politics From My Point Of View | Scoop.it

So why is Hillary the key to Evolution?

Hillary is carrying forward the Obama legacy in several ways. First and foremost, she approaches international diplomacy with an even hand.

Second, she represents everything needed to start a NEW economy that will finally provide alternative, competitive sources to fossil fuels providing an economic future for the U.S, and a War Chest for the Democratic Party.

So what do we need to start a Bioeconomy?

Read this article for the answers. Here's an outline of the key requirements.

1. Women:

2. Upfront Investment:

3. Education:

4. Low cost resources to create and support American Manufacturing:

5. Defeat of Fossil Fuels:

"Forget New Hampshire: It’s Still Clinton vs. Trump" | Rasmussen Reports™ | 02/10/16 | Politics From My Point Of View | Scoop.it

Consider Rasmussen Reports’ latest look at the Republican race nationally which we published on Monday. Trump still holds a double-digit lead over his closest rivals for the nomination.......

On the Democratic side, yesterday’s winner is highly unlikely to carry that success much further. Rasmussen Reports’ latest survey of the Democratic raceshows Hillary Clinton’s support nationally little changed in recent months: She leads Sanders 50% to 32%. Twelve percent (12%) like some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided......

Franklin Delano Williams's insight:
