Infographic on Social media and Google relation in making Search Engine Rankings for Business websites against Google Panda & Penguin with Google Authorship
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

Does the title seems little exciting? Obvious it does. This has always been a great point of argument of causation versus correlation. While many people have suggested that its becoming true with the fact that Google is consistency working on its search engine to make it better and better with the help of Panda and Penguin Updates.

As everyone knows the fact that Facebook and Google are not friends in real life and with the support of Microsoft, Facebook seems to be growing even more bigger. So how the correlation of Facebook Posts comes into the Google’s Search Engine? While its pretty simple, both of them are internet giants and both want to work and go ahead together.

Learn the nutrition facts of red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and sweet wine. The calories can differ from wine to wine depending on one key factor: ABV
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

Q: Why doesn’t wine have nutrition facts on the label?
One of the reasons nutrition facts are not listed on a wine label is to stipulate that booze is not part of a daily diet. Unfortunately, wine is not calorie free! It’s time to understand what’s in your wine and how different types of wine affect calories and nutrients.

British MPs were expected on May 21 to pass a bill to legalise same-sex marriage.

Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

British MPs were expected on May 21 to pass a bill to legalise same-sex marriage.

But its approval only comes through an agreement between Conservative prime minister David Cameron and the opposition Labour Party, since some 150 traditionalist right-wing MPs – nearly half of those representing the ruling party – were expected to vote against it.

Although the bill has widespread public support, it further divides the Conservatives, who are already split over the question of membership in the European Union.

Slavoj Žižek | Save us from the saviours: Europe and the Greeks

Slavoj Žižek | Save us from the saviours: Europe and the Greeks | Politically Incorrect | Scoop.it
Imagine a scene from a dystopian movie that depicts our society in the near future. Uniformed guards patrol half-empty downtown streets at night, on the prowl for immigrants, criminals and vagrants. Those they find are brutalised. What seems like a fanciful Hollywood image is a reality in today’s Greece. At night, black-shirted vigilantes from the Holocaust-denying neo-fascist Golden Dawn movement – which won 7 per cent of the vote in the last round of elections, and had the support, it’s said, of 50 per cent of the Athenian police – have been patrolling the street and beating up all the immigrants they can find: Afghans, Pakistanis, Algerians. So this is how Europe is defended in the spring of 2012.
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

Greece is not an exception. It is one of the main testing grounds for a new socio-economic model of potentially unlimited application: a depoliticised technocracy in which bankers and other experts are allowed to demolish democracy. By saving Greece from its so-called saviours, we also save Europe itself.

In “Star Trek Into Darkness,” the U.S.S. Enterprise crew hunts for a terrorist in the latest film in the franchise.
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

There is some intermittent complaining, in “Star Trek Into Darkness,” about the militarization of the Federation’s Starfleet. You may recall that the historic mission of the starship Enterprise was “to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations.” While the crew on the first television series found its way into plenty of fights, the show itself always tried to stay true to the ideals of peaceful intergalactic ethnography.

Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

Black Hole-Powered Jets Plow Into Galaxy

This composite image of a galaxy illustrates how the intense gravity of a supermassive black hole can be tapped to generate immense power. The image contains X-ray data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory (blue), optical light obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope (gold) and radio waves from the NSF’s Very Large Array (pink).

This multi-wavelength view shows 4C+29.30, a galaxy located some 850 million light years from Earth. The radio emission comes from two jets of particles that are speeding at millions of miles per hour away from a supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy. The estimated mass of the black hole is about 100 million times the mass of our Sun. The ends of the jets show larger areas of radio emission located outside the galaxy.

The X-ray data show a different aspect of this galaxy, tracing the location of hot gas. The bright X-rays in the center of the image mark a pool of million-degree gas around the black hole. Some of this material may eventually be consumed by the black hole, and the magnetized, whirlpool of gas near the black hole could in turn, trigger more output to the radio jet.

Most of the low-energy X-rays from the vicinity of the black hole are absorbed by dust and gas, probably in the shape of a giant doughnut around the black hole. This doughnut, or torus blocks all the optical light produced near the black hole, so astronomers refer to this type of source as a hidden or buried black hole. The optical light seen in the image is from the stars in the galaxy.

The Wine Color Chart | Wine Folly

The Wine Color Chart | Wine Folly | Politically Incorrect | Scoop.it
Ever wonder if a Chardonnay you're about to buy is going to be rich or lean? Believe it or not, the answer is right in front of your eyes. Wine colors unlock the secrets of style.
Demetrios Georgalas's insight:
What Different Wine Colors Mean

Many“buttery” Chardonnays are more extracted, which means they’re usually a rich gold color.

A wine’s color can also help you if you’re interested in collecting wine. You can use wine color cues to determine its potential to cellar. For instance, a syrah that tinges blue on the rim has lower acidity. Acidity is one of the primary traits of wines that age well.

Expert blind tasters take serious note of the color of wine. Amongst these experts are advanced sommeliers who must be able to accurately blind taste 6 wines to earn their credentials.

Whether or not you’re aiming for a life in the restaurant industry, you can still use wine colors to better define favorites.

Demetrios Georgalas's insight:

People who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered (LGBT) continue to experience widespread discrimination and harassment, according to the largest survey ever conducted among the LGBT community in Europe. Nearly half (47%) of LGBT people said they had personally felt discriminated against or harassed on the grounds of sexual orientation in the past year, while one in four (26%) had been attacked or threatened with violence in the last five years. Find out the facts in our infographic.

The survey was carried out by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) among more than 93,000 people in the EU and Croatia. The results were released on 17 May to mark International Day against Homophobia and have also been used to create our infographic.

It shows that members of the LGBT community continue to experience violence and harassment at school, work or other parts of daily life. For example, 91% of respondents said they heard or read negative comments about LGBT people while they were still in school.
